NORTH HALL RACE DAY!
Good luck to ALL of our North Hall racers this Saturday! This year, we have 2 JV2 North Hall High School riders and 4 North Hall Middle School riders hitting the course. 💚🖤
But… DID YOU KNOW? 🤔
🚴 It all starts with a MASS START! Riders line up together and sprint off the line, jockeying for position as they hit the trails. That first push can make a BIG difference!
⛰️ 5.3 MILES PER LAP! JV2 riders will take on 2 laps, while our NHMS riders will tackle 1 lap. That means pacing is critical, especially when you have another lap waiting for you!
🌧️☀️ ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN! Heat, rain, sunshine, mud, dust—you name it! Course conditions can change the entire race and riders have to be ready for whatever Mother Nature brings.
👟🚲 FLATS OR CLIPS? Some riders race with flat pedals and shoes, while others use clip-in shoes that lock their feet to the pedals. Both have their fans!
👕 THE JERSEY IS CALLED A “KIT!” A rider's kit includes their jersey and shorts—and we think the North Hall kits are some of the coolest out there! 😎
💦 WELCOME TO THE FEED ZONE! Riders completing two or more laps can grab a fresh water bottle from their coaches while racing through the feed zone. A quick handoff takes practice—and there’s NO slowing down!
🔥 And the energy? INCREDIBLE. The crowds cheer for riders throughout the race, from the front of the pack to the very last rider across the finish line.
So let's get loud and show our North Hall riders some love!
