Ryder Buckner of Oneonta Middle School got a new Trek Procaliber and has been using it exactly the way a bike like that should be used: full gas, no fear, absolutely terrorizing the trails.

He’ll be racing the ACA weekend at Noccalula Falls, flying the Black Squirrel Mafia MTB Team flag.

If you’re out there, cheer loud. Go get ’em, Ryder.

Heads up, Gadsden: Cahaba Cycles will be closed Saturday morning while we’re out working the Eagle Rock Easter Classic. We expect to have the shop open sometime between 12 and 1 PM.

If you’re racing, riding, or just out enjoying the day, come say hey. Then swing by the shop once we’re back.

Thanks for your patience.

Spring is here, Eagle Rock Easter Classic is coming, and yes—we’ve got rental bikes.

Our Trek Domane fleet is a good answer for anybody who wants to race, ride, or just survive the day on something fast, comfortable, and not held together by old optimism and a dry chain.

Need a bike for Eagle Rock? Call or stop by and let’s get you set up before the good ones disappear.

Custom build for the mountain biker who got gravel-curious: a titanium Lynskey with a rigid Whisky fork, built for long dirt miles, bad pavement, and the kind of ideas that always seem smarter once you’re already rolling.

Today’s service write-up wasn’t a bike at all. It was a tactical-grade walker belonging to a very old retired Marine who rolled in needing the brakes fixed.

And honestly? Respect.

You live long enough, see enough, survive enough, and eventually the whole world becomes your service department. Bike shops get some odd stuff. Every now and then, though, the odd stuff has more dignity than the rest of us.

That soft little shhh-shhh-shhh from your brake isn’t always harmless. Sometimes it’s a warped rotor, sitting there on the wheel like a bent vinyl record waiting to make your whole ride annoying.

If your bike’s making strange noises or your brakes feel off, roll it by the shop and let us take a look. Small problems have a way of becoming expensive ones when ignored.

Better a quick check now than a long walk later.

🍻🚲 Beer moves better on three wheels.

We just hooked Back Forty Beer Company up with this cargo trike to help haul stuff around the brewery—cases, supplies, “oh crap we need that right now” runs… all without firing up a vehicle or playing forklift Tetris.

Stable, simple, and built for work. (Also: it looks perfect parked in front of a wall of cans.)

Every day there’s a new character rolling into the shop. Some are pristine. Some have been living a hard life behind a garage can.

Today’s episode: the classic I lost my bash guard at Fort McClellan situation.

No judgment. Just solutions.
If your bike left some parts in the woods, bring it by. We’ll get it back out on the trail.

RAIN PLAN / COLD SNAP.

Today’s got that wet, gray “this seemed like a good idea yesterday” energy.
Sunday looks clearer… but colder—the kind of cold that makes your fingers file a formal complaint until you warm them up at The Coffee Bar Gadsden

If you’re riding anyway (respect), here’s the cheat sheet:

1) Be seen. Lights on. Bright-ish something. Assume drivers are distracted and the sky is actively working against you.
2) Be smooth. Brake early, corner lazy, and treat painted lines like banana peels.
3) L**e after. Not during. Not “later.” After. Your chain deserves dignity.
4) Cold-layer code: base + mid + shell… then spend your money where it matters: hands + feet.

Tag the friend who says “we’ll be fine” and shows up in cotton.

If you want a quick once-over before you roll, swing by—we’ll get you sorted.
