I finally did it. I tried vanlife! 🚐
After a year of drooling over campervans, I rented a fully loaded Sprinter 144 AWD through Outdoorsy and headed to Idyllwild. Starlink, solar power, an outdoor shower, mountain views… and honestly one of the best sleeps I’ve had in a long time. 😴🏔️
Was it perfect? Almost. Did it help me figure out exactly what I want (and don’t want) in my own future van build? Absolutely.

I just spent some time exploring Organ Pipe Cactus National Monument, and it’s easily one of the most underrated spots in the Southwest. From the unique "organ pipe" clusters to some of the darkest, clearest night skies I’ve ever seen, this place is a dream for anyone who loves the backcountry.
Whether you’re there for the rugged hiking or just to catch a sunset behind the saguaros, it’s a must-visit.

I’ve been using the AllTrails app for years, and it’s become one of my go-to hiking tools. The Free version is great for casual hikes and now even lets you customize existing routes on desktop again. Upgrading to AllTrails Plus or Peak adds offline maps, Trail Conditions, custom routes on mobile, and advanced planning tools that help me stay on track even when cell service disappears. If you’re curious whether the AllTrails app is really free or trying to decide if Plus or Peak is worth it, I shared my honest review and the features I find most useful for hikers, backpackers, and outdoor adventurers.
