Growing up in North Carolina, I was always surrounded by water—pools, lakes, ponds, and the beach. My parents understood the importance of swim lessons early on, and I quickly became a true “water bug.” As I grew older, I came to deeply appreciate swimming not just as a hobby, but as an essential life skill. At 15, inspired by my cousin Cerissa, I became a lifeguard. What began as a job quickly tu
rned into a lifelong passion for aquatics and water safety. Over the years, I have served as a Lifeguard, Head Guard, and Pool Manager for several local facilities. I was also a Certified Pool Operator and Wake County CPO, ensuring pool safety standards and chemical regulations are consistently met within a commercial and residential setting. Throughout my career, I have taught swim lessons to children, adults, and individuals with special needs. After experiencing a near-drowning incident in which I helped save a child’s life, my mission became even clearer: to help create “one less drowning.”
Teaching swimming is more than instruction—it’s about building confidence, developing life-saving skills, and fostering a lifelong respect for the water. My goal is to ensure every swimmer not only learns to swim, but feels safe, capable, and empowered in and around the water.
