THAT NUMBER ON THE SCALE WILL MESS WITH YOU WORSE THAN THAT DONUT IN THE BREAK ROOM
If you’ve been following along the past few weeks,
You know that I’ve been super-focused on taking better care of me (the oxygen mask theory)
⚡️ Going mostly gluten & dairy to reduce inflammation and aches & pains
⚡️ Focusing on increasing muscle mass/lower body fat percentage
⚡️ Protecting my boundaries by saying no to things that don’t serve me often allowing me to say yes to fun
I knew this pursuit of increasing muscle mass meant one very big thing….
Despite very focused, committed workouts….
😱 The number on the scale was going to go up, not down! 😱
And the things I really needed to focus on?
⚡️ How are my clothes fitting?
⚡️ Is the “squish” going away? (ladies, you know I mean 🙄)
⚡️Do I feel strong?
And most importantly…
⚡️💕⚡️ Can I effectively and SAFELY help my Dad get in and out of the car and into his wheelchair?
I’ll tell you, despite moving closer to achieving my wellness goals with every rep, every increase in the weight I can lift and every workout completed, that number on the scale going up messes with head more than enjoying an occasional cookie, donut, piece of delicious cake, pizza, beer, wine…ok ill stop 🤣
I’m overcoming it, mainly by stepping on the scale less, and when I do, I flip right to the body fat percentage and ignore the rest.
That weight number on the scale is just your impact on gravity and I’m doing a darn fine job towing my weight there 🤓
Just remember:
🏋️♀️ The weight you lift is waayy cooler than the one on the scale
