Friday night race recap!!

Friday night at callaway after coming off a kart win Thursday night at Montgomery county fair, boy was it a fun night.

Heat race had Popeye and myself starting on the front row. Was able to get to the preferred line first and held off several of his attempts to pass for a heat race victory.

Feature lineup with passing points I was starting pole. Green dropped and we had a an instant 3 car battle for the lead. Unfortunately got shuffled back to third but had some awesome door to door nose to tail racing 1st-3rd the whole race. Late race caution came with 2 laps to go the Mother Nature decided we were having too much fun and rained us out.

Was definitely an amazing weekend of racing for our Drummond Motorsports team grabbing 3 podium’s at both tracks.

Race recap for Montgomery county fair! After much consideration and lots of motivation from our karting family we decided to blow the dust off the karts and try our luck at Montgomery.

I’ve always loved short tight fair tracks and Monkey city has always been my top favorite.

I was able to sweep the night for my first win of 2026 in the treaded predator class.

Shania was able to hold on to a very respectable 3rd place finish in the vintage class, she’s not one for fair tracks like me but as the laps worked in I think she’s coming around for them.

Big thank you to the Yelton family for giving us the extra push to come back out, it was great seeing everyone and being around the karting family we’ve gained.

Hoping the weather holds off to see what we can do in the hornet at callaway tonight.

The car is battered and bruised but after a week of hard work it’s ready to hit the track again. I can’t thank everyone enough for checking on me or all the hands on putting the car back together.

You’ll see something a little different for the remainder of season. For year’s racing karts my number has been 20 but to show support and my gratitude to my amazing wife Shania Drummond for all her help and support throughout our racing I will be running her number 23 with a small 20.

Fingers crossed we get to make laps tonight and the car is as quick as it was last weekend

Back to racing a hornet around the place I cut my teeth racing. Haven’t raced a hornet around this place since 2009. Been a long time coming, definitely grateful for this opportunity! Can’t thank Popeye living, Miriah Wiggins and Shania Drummond for this opportunity and all the hard work into making this happen. Let’s see what we can do! Come on out it’s gonna be a hot one so stay hydrated!

Opening day 2026 recap!

This past Saturday we started our 2026 season off HPIS. It was great to see all our familiar faces and new faces as well.

Was able to go 3rd to 1st in the heat which put me starting on the front row of the feature with my good buddy Nelson Logan.

Green flag waves and I was able to lead the first 10 laps with a late race caution. Unfortunately returning to green after the caution I was spun out going into turn one, but was able to race back to solid podium position in 3rd.

All in all it was a good day and look forward to the rest of the season.

2025 award’s banquet is in the books! Let me start off by saying THANK YOU to everyone for the support and everything along the way during our racing journey throughout the years! We were able to bring home quite a bit of hardware tonight. Shania finished a close 3rd in the season points and I was able to clinch the season championship. But tonight was a surprise for us all. Never in my career would I ever think I was a candidate for a special award, but tonight I was recognized with the 2025 sportsmanship of the year award. Hams Prairie International Speedway is more of home for us with all the relationships we have created with friends and family. Everyone at the track is considered family in our eyes. So I am deeply appreciative for being recognized with the 2025 sportsmanship award. Thank you again to everyone for the support and can’t wait to see you at the track in 2026!

It’s official, with Hams Prairie International Speedway points coming to a close I’ve officially been named 2025 Doolittle Trailer Mfg., Inc. vintage champion!

It’s been a great season for us at Drummond Motorsports. Multiple wins, multiple podium finishes from both drivers. Lots of laughs, smiles, and memories along the way.

Looks like Shania has battled her way to 3rd in season points standings with our close friend and family Rj Curtis finishing 2nd in the season standings.

Shania and Rj were in a pretty close back and forth battle for the runner up spot most the season. Proud of both of them on their performances this year!
