**Power Cheer Maryland**
COVID – 19 UPDATE
11:03PM 03/16/2020
Greetings. I write this letter to athletes and parents to explain Power Cheer Maryland’s position during this difficult time. There is an endless amount of information going around about our current state as a country, as a state, and more importantly a community. With information being changed hourly, it is hard to keep everyone informed with the most accurate information. As you may know, all major events have been canceled or rescheduled to a later date - the cheerleading industry is no exception to this. Our last 3 Events have been canceled due to the likelihood of the contagion being introduced to healthy individuals in attendance.
Businesses around the country are struggling to find the appropriate and responsible way to handle this global COVID - 19 situation. Power Cheer Maryland will take the advice of the CDC and act in a responsible manner by putting the health of our athletes and their families first. All accounts will be frozen until the program resumes practice as normal. We will start by suspending all practices and activities for the next two weeks within the gym to ensure no one comes into contact with COVID – 19. Keep in mind we have multiple families that have been blessed with newborn babies as well as those who care for elderly family members. Indeed, even healthy individuals can contract this dangerous virus.
We are currently waiting for a response from the IEP’s (Independent Event Producers) as we are unsure how they will be handling funds that have been paid by you. As we get updates, Power Cheer Maryland will pass along this information. We are keeping in mind that the IEP’s are struggling to get through these tough times as they have hundreds of clients. We ask for your patience during these difficult times.
I am extremely thankful to everyone for their understanding and patience. If you have questions, please don’t hesitate to contact me.
