This new building means increasing our ability to serve hardworking families in need, including affordable homeownership, critical home repairs, financial literacy and workforce development training, and a second ReStore location that sells quality used household goods at an affordable price. Thank you to Tom and Lisa Shelton and the Salisbury Rollergirls for the match funding up to $20,000. It is with heavy hearts that we announce the dissolution of the Salisbury Rollergirls. Coming back from the pandemic proved difficult. For the past year-and-a-half the board of directors has worked to find affordable skating space in our area, to no avail. We have no other choice but to lay to rest the dream we started in 2010.

We extend our thanks on behalf of every woman who stepped onto our track, and with the cry, “Who are we?” replied with a shout, “SALISBURY!” Thanks to our sponsors, volunteers, fans, officials, photographers, and especially every team we have had the honor of facing off against. We are grateful to you all.

The memories we take with us will be varied for each skater. For some, it will be helping form a brand-new sports team. For others, it will be the fun and excitement of away games and tournaments. For others, it will be the incredible knowledge gained both on and off the track. And for others, it will absolutely be the after parties. But for all of us we share one common and transformative memento--the relationships we have built and the bonds that endure.

To the rest of the leagues out there, skate on! We are cheering for you.

To those who wished to skate with us, we very much regret missing the opportunity to take the track with you. We encourage you to check out nearby Southern Delaware Roller Derby. May all of your derby dreams come true.

Salisbury Rollergirls has always been a league with our community at heart. Since our first bout in March 2011 we have donated a dollar from every ticket sold to a charity. We participated in events across Salisbury and beyond. In 2018 we achieved our dream of becoming a nonprofit organization. With our last act as the Salisbury Rollergirls, it is our honor to announce that the entirety of our residual funds will be donated to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County as part of a match challenge for the renovation of their new administrative building and second ReStore location.

For every dollar donated to Habitat for Humanity of Wicomico County, SRG will match the donation, dollar-for-dollar, up to $10,000!*

SRG was always excited to join Habitat’s Women Builds and donated bout income yearly to the nonprofit that ensures everyone can have a safe, decent, affordable place to call home. We are beyond saddened to let go of the team that we created, but are happy that our last act can be to help more people in our beloved area have the means to build a better future.

While there are many, many worthwhile photos that show who we are and what we have experienced and accomplished over the years, we end as we begun, with our original team photo. On behalf of every All-Star and Wicomikazi who ever laced up with us, thank you from the bottom of our hearts.

Eva Paxton #100, founder and co-athletic director
Lexa Cution #333, co-athletic director
Mortem #32, administrative director

It is with shock and sadness that we share the death of former SRG teammate, Niamh Shortt. Niamh, #101, trained and skated with the Wicomikazis during the 2015 derby season. We extend our deepest sympathies to her family, friends, co-workers, and all of the lives she touched with her kindness and light. 💜

Dear Future Harvest Community,

It is with unbearably heavy hearts that we share the news of Niamh Shortt's passing.

As Future Harvest’s Field School Director, Niamh came into contact with many of you. Anyone who had the privilege of that interaction was better for it -- because foremost in her mind was to listen and translate what she learned into meaningful action. Niamh had a gift for connecting with people and creating community, in part because she cared so deeply about building a vibrant, sustainable and just food system, and in part because it was simply in her nature to bring beautiful ideas to life. In everything she did, she expressed her commitment to farmers and her determination that they receive the support they need. No matter where she was, Niamh was witty, smart, open minded, observant, and wildly inquisitive. A true gem.

Her colleagues will miss her terribly. We will keep you up to date as we seek ways to honor her memory. We hope you will share your memories with us and with each other.

The masked lady on the left is SRG All-Stars retired skater Kelly Kline, AKA "Copper Feel." We are so proud of you, Copper!

Happy and !

Here in Delaware, we're so grateful for all of the library workers who dedicate their time to helping our kids learn & grow, like Selbyville Public Library's Director Kelly Kline, who now runs her childhood library!

I met Kelly in February when Governor John Carney announced $40 million from the Act that will be invested in 9 of Delaware's libraries across the state.

These funds will make our libraries and communities stronger and will inspire a new generation of librarians.
