In-Person & Virtual Sessions Body Balancing Method.

Carly was born in New York state and grew up in beautiful Miami, Florida. She was introduced to Pilates during her time at New World School of the Arts where she attained her Bachelor of Fine Arts in Dance Performance, graduating Summa Cum Laude. Carly spent nearly a decade performing with several regional and internationally touring dance, theater, and production companies. After realizing how mu

ch she continued using the fundamentals of Pilates for conditioning, Carly became certified in mat, equipment, and props in 2012 through the D.K. Though she continued performing, teaching slowly took precedence—and provided similar satisfaction. Carly instructed at several prominent Pilates studios around South Florida. Because of her background in dance and Pilates, a friend encouraged her to try FlyBarre, a Barre method at a nationally recognized boutique Barre and Cycling studio. Carly loved it and after a rigorous training period began teaching. She eventually took on the role of lead instructor and mentor, where she assisted in managing and training other instructors. Due to the similar nature of lengthening, strengthening, and toning in Pilates and Barre, Carly soon gained a following of clients who trained with her in both methods. In 2017, she was named Best Instructor in Miami by ClassPass. A move up the coast to Stamford, Connecticut in 2018 was the perfect time to begin creating her own brand. Pilates By Carly was developed as an intimate, independent home studio in Harbor Point. As a newcomer, Carly found it important to connect with the surrounding communities, so while growing Pilates By Carly, she continued teaching FlyBarre in Scarsdale, New York, where she also trained to teach an additional method, FlyFIT (Functional Intense Training). In Greenwich, Connecticut she taught and managed Spring Theory Pilates, a boutique Pilates studio. And in Stamford, Carly taught private and group Reformer at Chelsea Piers, a gym and athletic complex like no other. Interested in gaining more expertise, Carly received continuing education certificates in Pre/Postnatal Pilates through PROnatal Fitness and in Barrels, Barrels and MORE Barrels! through The Vertical Workshop in 2019. Unexpectedly, as the COVID-19 pandemic swept the world, forcing fitness studios and gyms to shut down, Carly had to think outside the box. She launched Pilates By Carly even further by joining the virtual fitness movement to keep followers healthy and strong in mental, physical, and emotional capacities. Once things began to reopen and Carly returned to in-person teaching, she continued with her live virtual offerings to stay connect with clients near and far. In 2022, Pilates By Carly found a new home just outside of Jacksonville, Florida and currently offers in-person private training and small group mat classes, live virtual mat and Reformer sessions, as well as workout videos. Motivated by her own pregnancy, she wanted to dive deeper into helping pregnant and postpartum clients train for the physical and mental demands of this highly athletic and special time. So in early 2023, Carly became a PROnatal Certified Coach, earning her Pre/Postnatal Performance Training Specialist Certification with PROnatal Fitness. In the Spring of 2023, she began offering Stroller Strong, a workout class held outdoors that she created for parents with their little ones. With her Pilates mat and equipment certification, multiple continuing education credits, a college degree in dance, studies in anatomy, physiology, kinesiology, body mechanics and injury prevention, and a first hand understanding of the body and movement, Carly has the tools to shape a unique course for each client. She instructs individuals of all ages and levels with varying health and fitness goals in mind, including clients who are pre and postpartum as well as clients with diverse injuries. Whether training virtually or in person, a workout with Carly is a workout that makes you feel confident.

April is International Cesarean Awareness Month. Tomorrow my son will be 19 months old. 19 months (minus 1 day) ago, I went into labor after 40+ weeks of mental and physical prep with the only question in the back of my mind being whether or not I would be able to deliver this baby without needing an epidural. (And I was so hoping I could do it.) So far away from my thoughts was whether I’d need a c-section. But after requesting an epidural, 4 hours of pushing and 3 failed attempts of vacuum extraction, a cesarean was ultimately necessary. Mentally, I was not prepared for that. The need for it or the difficult recovery I was about to experience.

This is just one more personal story and another example, because I know you’ve heard it before, that no matter what your birth plan is, you have to accept that sometimes you just have to go with the flow. There is no way to predict the birth story you’re going to tell once you’re on the road to recovery. After all this time, I still feel a sense of failure, but I continue to remind myself, that again and again I would choose to do what is safest for my baby and for me, and that was what had to be done. But that’s why it’s important to share birth stories; for women who are feeling similarly, you need to know that you are not alone.

As a fitness professional, pre/postnatal certified coach, and a mother who has been through it, if you need any tips on c-section prep (because you have a planned cesarean) or tips on recovery, please send me a DM and I’d be happy to help!

In addition, whether you give birth vaginally or via c-section, it’s so important to physically prep your body during pregnancy for pregnancy and the postpartum period because not only will YOU be recovering but you will have to do all the physical tasks necessary for caring for your new tiny little human. Please send me a DM if being a physically mindful mommy is something that piques your interest!

💜 𝐈𝐧𝐭𝐫𝐨𝐝𝐮𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 💜

We’ve had quite an influx of followers over the past few weeks, so we thought we’d take a moment to say welcome, and introduce ourselves.

We’re Brittany (Right, ProNatal Fitness Founder and CEO) and Carolyn (Left, ProNatal Fitness Chief Content Officer). We started our careers in very different fields – Brittany in the corporate world, and Carolyn in the fitness industry – but our own personal experiences navigating pregnancy, birth, and early parenthood brought us together to create a company we felt needed to exist.

Our unique journeys opened our eyes to the overwhelming amount of confusion, fear, and judgment that too often surround exercise in the perinatal period. Most of the guidance we heard was around “stop this,” “avoid that,” or “you should/should not do _____.” It felt quite frustrating, and almost paralyzing, at times.

We view the pregnancy journey in an entirely different light – not as a “condition” to be feared, but as one of life’s most thrilling athletic events.

We believe every individual navigating this incredible journey deserves the best possible preparation and recovery – and we created ProNatal Fitness to do just that.

Today, ProNatal Fitness is a global leader in evidence-based pre & postnatal exercise education – offering a variety of courses and programs to pregnant & postpartum individuals and the health & fitness professionals who want to serve them.

We encourage you to head to our link in bio to explore our offerings. From our signature ProNatal Certification, to self-guided training programs, mini-courses, and plenty of free resources – we’re here to empower you with the information you need to achieve your “personal best” in training yourself, or your clients, for what is truly the “𝐞𝐯𝐞𝐧𝐭 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐥𝐢𝐟𝐞𝐭𝐢𝐦𝐞".

In that light, we’d love to learn about you and what brought you here.
