The application window will reopen from Monday, June 8 through Friday, July 31. Applications must be submitted online through Parent Portal.

COE is a statewide program that allows you to apply to any public school (excluding magnet schools) that still has seats open for next year. The list of eligible PCPS schools is posted at polkschoolsfl.com/transfer.

PCPS will accept COE applications this summer until available seats are filled at eligible schools. Please note that if you are accepted to a school via COE, you are responsible for providing transportation.

For more information about COE, please visit polkschoolsfl.com/transfer or call our Pupil Accounting department at 863-519-7600 (option 1).

PCPS will also conduct another lottery drawing for magnet school applications on Monday, June 8. IMPORTANT: Please note this drawing is only for existing magnet school applications that have already been submitted for 2026-27, PCPS is not accepting new magnet school applications.

However, a limited number of magnet schools are accepting paper applications, please see this post for details: https://www.facebook.com/PCPSMagnetChoice/posts/pfbid035JLexUPYjeedmrcETgeBj6dB6YxVybGDaatBpvZafJYejrkrcYSmYZ8qvd1b8ExYl

We have some amazing athletes here at FHS! We had two of our softball players nominated for the Florida Athletics Coaches Association Awards. FACA gives out awards each year to the top athletes based on their stats and their high academics.
These two young ladies were high in the stats in hitting and pitching. Ella led with her amazing offensive and Leah was 25th out of 200 freshman pitchers in the State of Florida to pitch the most strikeouts. Help us congratulate our two Varsity 9th graders, Leah Thornton and Ella Leppert for receiving this honor. This is only the beginning, watch out for these two 🥎💪

Had a wonderful time tonight at our end of the season softball banquet. Tonight was about recognizing the hard work, commitment, and growth of our softball program and the players who represented it this season.
Every season comes with challenges, and this one was no different. There were highs, lows, exciting moments, frustrating moments, and a lot of lessons learned along the way. But through it all, these players continued to show up, compete, and represent our school with pride.
One thing I appreciate about this group is that they never stopped working. Practices were competitive, games were intense, and expectations were high. As coaches, that’s what we ask for — effort, accountability, and the willingness to keep pushing even when things are not perfect.
High school athletics teaches lessons that go far beyond softball. It teaches responsibility, discipline, resilience, and how to respond when adversity hits. Not every season is going to be easy, and not every team is going to look the same. Sometimes growth comes from success, and sometimes it comes from learning how to handle difficult moments. Both are valuable.
To our senior Emily, thank you for the time and energy you invested in this program. You leave behind memories, experiences, and an example for younger players of what it means to compete at the varsity level.
To the returning players, continue building your skills, your confidence, and your leadership. Every season is a new opportunity to grow individually and as a team.
We also want to thank our parents and families for the support you gave throughout the season — from rides to practices and games, to team dinners, encouragement, and simply being there in the stands. Your support matters more than you know.
At the end of the day, softball is temporary, but the lessons learned through athletics stay with you long after the final game. We hope every player takes pride in the work they put in this season and uses it as motivation moving forward.
We are proud of the effort this team gave and thankful for the opportunity to coach each of you.
Congratulations to all of our award winners tonight, and thank you for representing our program this season.
Love,
Your Coaches

We are proud of you Belle!
