The countdown to Fall Showcase IS ON!🕺🎉

Our dancers are getting those performances faces ready! Throughout this week, our dancers will be sharing their choreography with their neighboring classes to practice in front of a new audience.💕

Practicing without the mirror is the best way for our dancers to prepare for the stage!🪞✨

Two weeks before every show, SDC covers the mirrors and has our students write inspirational messages and draw fun pictures on the paper. This serves as a fun class bonding activity and a practical way to test their memories!🎨🧠

⭐️STUDENT SPOTLIGHT⭐️

Each month the SDC staff nominates one dancer who has been excelling in the classroom, is a positive role model, is kind to their classmates, or exhibits a positive attitude in and out of the studio.

Check out our Student Spotlight from the month of August, April!
April is in our Tuesday Jazz 4 class!

Ms. Jasmine, her Jazz 4 instructor, says…
"April has been doing fantastic in my Jazz 4 class this season! She is always kind, attentive, and ready to learn each week. April continues to master new skills, takes corrections so well, and is becoming more confident in her movement and abilities. She is such a joy to teach and consistently brings a positive attitude, hard work, and passion to class. I’m so excited to continue teaching and watching her grow throughout the year! Keep up the amazing work, April!"

Congratulations April!🌟👏🎉

Ever wonder why do dancers do the same pliés, tendus, turns, jumps, and foundational exercises over and over again?🤔

Because the exercise may stay the same, but the dancer keeps changing. Repetition builds strength, coordination, muscle memory, confidence, patience, and perseverance. It teaches dancers that progress doesn’t always come from doing something new - it often comes from staying with something long enough to truly master it.

And that moment when a dancer realizes, “Wait… I can do this!”? That’s the magic. They worked for it. 💗💚 Great things rarely happen all at once. They’re built, one repetition at a time.

Not every student will become a professional dancer, however, EVERY STUDENT WILL ACHIEVE GREAT THINGS!💕👏🏼

Because of dance, each one of our students learns the resilience, hard work, and respect that is needed to fulfill their dreams. Whether that dream is getting into their dream college, graduating with a specific degree, being hired for their dream job, etc — our students are set up for success because of the skills they learn from DANCE!🎉
