Setting up your HUDL profile is the key step that will take your college recruitment process to the next level.
But… what should your HUDL Profile include?
Basic Information
When first setting up your HUDL profile, you want to include all your basic information such as height, weight, graduation date, as well as your position. This helps set the stage for what any prospective coach can expect when evaluating you as a player.
Images
Additionally, you want to make sure your profile has some pictures of you. These pictures should be professional but also personal and help showcase you and your game.
Academic Information
This involves test scores, GPA, and your academic transcript. Because these metrics are part of the recruitment process, it’s important to prioritize academics just as equally as you prioritize your sport.
Bio
Write a creative bio about yourself that gives the coach an overview of you as a person, a player, and a potential college student-athlete.
Contact Information
HUDL allows coaches to see all the most important information about you in one place. This should include ways to contact you. Your profile should consist of your phone number and email as well as your parent or guardian’s contact information as well.
Accomplishments
In addition, make sure to highlight all your accomplishments in your HUDL profile. This includes academics, athletics, or any others that will help make you stand out to coaches.
FILM!
Highlight your best plays and display a variety of skills in this highlight reel. When putting together this video remember, that there shouldn’t be any music or possibly distracting graphics. Put all the best plays first and keep this in between 4 and 5 minutes max.
Anything Additional
This can include your stats (i.e. 40-yard dash, vertical, lift PRs)
You may also add links to your social media which will give potential recruiters the ability to see you beyond a player on the field.
With these tips, you can set yourself up for success and beat out the competition. Good luck as you further your college recruiting process!
