Yesterday marked the end of an era.
Solar 04G Ancheta played its very last game.

It was an 8 o’clock er. There were yawns, there was sweat, there were donuts, there was one spectator knocked over, there were roses, there were hugs and there were tears. But with it - friends and memories to last a lifetime.

The uniforms will get washed one last time then put away for ever.

Dallas Cup with the Aussies day 8, 9 & 10.

Tonight we had to say our tearful goodbyes to our amazing Aussies after ten days of them being part of our Solar family. What an incredible experience for both the Aussie players, the host families and the players who spent time getting to know this extraordinary group of young ladies from Down Under. 💛💚🇦🇺

The tears at the end said it all…new friends, priceless forever memories.

The final days included fantastic crowd support at Toyota Stadium. While it was a tough loss, the experience of playing on an MLS field and taking home a 2nd place medal was met with such gratitude from the Aussies.
Capped the evening off with an opening weekend game at Rough Riders with fireworks for the ones who managed to make it to the 9th inning 😂

Saturday we had a good old backyard BBQ at Coach Ancheta’s house with the families and players for both teams, including an Easter Egg hunt and TONS of potluck food from the Solar families!

Sunday each host spent the last hours with their girls until we had to give our final hugs at the airport. So. Many. Tears. (Maybe even a few from yours truly)

As the coordinator for this group, I cannot thank our beloved host families who volunteered their homes and their time and their love to the Australian School Girls players, the players who made them feel so welcome at the events, as well as the families who contributed generously so that we could treat the girls to events like the FC Dallas game, Rough riders and gift them with some Texas flair while they were here. Thank you for making this experience such a beautiful memory for so many young ladies. We couldn’t have done this without you ❤️❤️

Dallas Cup with the Aussies days 6&7!
These girls are headed to the finals game this afternoon against Solar!

Girls visited the Frisco Fire Station for a t-shirt exchange, went to thrift shop, won their semi-final in an exciting PK win, dinner experience at Babes, attended a signing bday, took pictures in the bluebonnets, went to the mall to shop, spent time with their host players and caught up on sleep!

Dallas Cup with the Aussies days 4&5!
Solar finished up with a game against a team from England while the Aussies advance after a win against a team from Mexico!

Free day today was a trip to Reunion Tower, a visit to the Book Depository and Grassy Knoll, lunch at Cheesecake Factory and an introduction to Buc-ee himself!

What-A-Weekend!

Solar Ancheta packed it in the last few days!
The Aussies and Solar spectated a boy’s HS soccer playoff game, attended an FC Dallas game, got gifted some hunting glasses, drove through What-A-Burger, perused Target, introduced us to TimTams and vegemite, marched in the Opening Day parade, ate Mexican food, held a chicken, swapped culture facts, ate more meat in a few days than they’ve ever eaten, oh, and even played some soccer! 😂

What a priceless experience for both our players and the Aussies to be a part of such a cool experience.

We can’t thank our amazing host families for providing a home equipped with southern hospitality for the Australian players and for the donations from our team and family to help make this a wonderful experience for the Aussies and the host families. Likewise, the players have all been an absolute delight and we are all enjoying their company and good humor. We lucked out! Their favorite thing so far…Walmart. 🤣
