What started out with me sharing my love of juice with friends quickly became a business I had previously only dreamed about. My love of travel and outdoor recreation prevented me from choosing just one spot to open a shop. The first time I loaded a cooler to deliver juices to my customers, I realized m

y dream could travel with me! Within just a couple of weeks I brought my juice to a farmer's market and sold out! The produce I use is organic, unless it is not available, and I declare all non-organic produce as such, so you are able to make an informed choice. As I have continued to return to Hatteras Island frequently, I found this to be my sliver of peace and where I want to grow roots. I'm fortunate to partner with in my new endeavor. The Sugar Beet Mama name began when a new friend tried my juice for the first time. She tasted my favorite juice made with beets in addition to other yummy fruits and declared, "You're the sugar beet mama!" So jump on and enjoy the ride with me! Juices are sold in two sizes.

My Captain loved the cold and snow. Me, not so much. I love to shovel when the air is dry and there is no wind. Great exercise. But that slushy wet stuff, eww.. I used to complain every February because I was in so much pain. Someone responded one year, well you don't have to be here. Light bulb went off. My body still aches in NC as temps dip, but nothing like New England cold. Not a hearty New Englander bone in my body. Ancestry.com shows me as almost entirely North Carolina coastal settler. Feels good to be home.
