Some side by side comparison with the new laser light on the right compared to my older 32w vf light on the left.

Pool test thoughts:
Warmer blue color reminds me more of the beautiful color of the hid bulbs.
Really tight beam but about equal splash and overall illumination (both were on max power).
Need to compare the tightness of the beam more but I can’t use the focus k**b on my older one by hand, I need a tool. What I really need to do is make/print a lever that clamps on.
The splash was brighter up close on the 32w, but brighter across the pool on the laser so I’m guessing it’s higher bleed over from the spot.

Overall, I’m really impressed with the new lml!
Will inwater test someplace murky nearby (only option I have!) and someplace nicer down the road!

Got it all rigged and ready to go! Just missing my neoprene pad on the handle.

Cannot wait to try out this new light from light monkey!

Shearwater Firmware V103 for Petrel 3 has just been released. This update improves the accuracy of the single-point oxygen sensor calibration on most analog Petrel 3 rebreather devices. This update does not affect open circuit divers, Petrel 3 DiveCAN units, or any other Shearwater products.
