DOUBLE FEATURE FRIDAY — TWO ICONIC HK P7 VARIANTS

This week’s Double Feature highlights two standout examples from the legendary Heckler & Koch P7 series — a design long respected for its innovative engineering, squeeze-cocking system, and remarkable mechanical precision.

Featured here are a scarce West German P7 M10 in .40 S&W and a beautifully preserved German-made P7 M8 in 9mm. Though different in size and configuration, both reflect the unique gas-delayed blowback design and fixed-barrel accuracy that made the P7 platform famous around the world.

From the engineering to the craftsmanship, the P7 series remains one of the most distinctive pistol designs ever produced by HK.

A VAQUERO WITH CUSTOM CHARACTER

This Tyler Gun Works Custom R***r New Vaquero in .45 C**t brings together classic sixgun styling and traditional engraving in a refined custom-shop build.

Featuring hand engraving by Ricky Sharp, a vivid TGW Color Cased frame, Belt Mountain base pin, and a TGW in-house action job, this revolver reflects the kind of thoughtful upgrades that enhance both appearance and handling. The hand-fit maple burl grips add striking natural figure and complete the presentation with a distinctive western character.

A beautiful example of how traditional craftsmanship and modern custom work come together on the New Vaquero platform.

S&W MODEL 53 “JET”

Recently acquired from an excellent collection, this Smith & Wesson Model 53 “Jet” represents one of the most technically unique K-frame target revolvers of the early 1960s.

Chambered in .22 Re*****on Jet Magnum and featuring a 6″ pinned barrel, adjustable target sights, wide target trigger, and classic double diamond walnut target stocks, the Model 53 was part of Smith & Wesson’s effort to bring high-velocity bottleneck centerfire performance to a revolver platform. Its selectable rimfire/centerfire firing system made it one of the most distinctive post-war S&W designs.

An especially interesting example from the early production years of this innovative and collectible model.

AN EARLY TRIPLE LOCK FROM A FINE COLLECTION

Recently acquired from an excellent collection, this Smith & Wesson .44 Hand Ejector First Model “Triple Lock” Target represents one of the most respected large-frame revolvers of the early 20th century.

Chambered in .44 S&W Special with a 4 digit serial number, this example falls within the early production range of the original New Century series (1908–1915). It features the distinctive third locking lug, the hallmark of the Triple Lock design, along with desirable Target Model characteristics including a raised Marble front sight, long barrel configuration, and early square-butt double diamond checkered walnut stocks with medallions.

With strong original finish and crisp markings consistent with careful preservation, this revolver reflects the precision craftsmanship that made the Triple Lock one of the most admired Smith & Wesson revolvers ever produced.

Refined and Field Ready

This Tyler Gun Works Custom R***r New Model Vaquero in .357 Magnum has been thoughtfully upgraded in our custom shop with a performance-focused combination of ergonomic and functional enhancements.

At the center of the build is the RW Grip Frames "Bo Ty" grip frame, paired with a Bisley hammer and trigger, free-spin pawl conversion, and Belt Mountain base pin. A setup known for improving handling, control, and overall shooting comfort. A TGW in-house action job further refines smoothness and consistency.

Finished in a low-glare bead blast stainless treatment and fitted with high-grade hand fit walnut grips, this revolver reflects a clean working profile with classic sixgun character and custom-shop refinement.

This C**t Government Model Series 70 in .38 Super features full hand engraving by Rocky Sharp, bringing traditional American scrollwork to one of C**t’s most iconic platforms.

The engraving complements the bright, high polish stainless finish while preserving the classic Government Model profile. The addition of mammoth tooth grips provides striking natural contrast and character long associated with high-grade custom C**ts.

This 2.5″ Stainless C**t Python highlights one of the most desirable carry-length configurations of the modern Python platform and has been thoughtfully refined in the Tyler Gun Works Custom Shop with artwork by Rocky Sharp, a TGW action job, and handmade Bastogne walnut grips.
