📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP *** ❗️

🔹️3 players DF Drill (Controlled)🔹️

🔹️I use these type of drills mainly in my snall group training session. I found them very helpfull as they cover many things that are important in DF training.
There are shuffle steps, steping fwd, being low, having arms out, droping shoulder etc

🔹️Additionaly, med ball and that 1-2-3 step turn are there just as add on, and to make next dig little bit more harder.

Med ball in video is 6lb. Players are 14 and 16 years old.

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP ***

🔹️ DF & Ball Control Partner drills (Basic level)🔹️
- With 2 volleyballs and with 1 volleyball -

🔹️ These easy drill are good for first part of practice, to get players going. Working with 2 vballs in same time really helps with players coordination and communication

🔹️ Drills explanation:

** WITH 2 VOLLEYBALLS **

1. Arm warm up : one player throws/hit down, another one throws/hit up - they switch on coach signal

2. Passing free balls: quick tempo, working on platform and "developing feel for the ball" , 1st round easy, 2nd round little harder (tossing further from passer)

3. Dig down ball + move to pass free ball

4. After player digs 3 down ball in a row, player can throw 2nd ball at any time!

** WITH 1 VOLLEYBALL **

1. Skip + Dig : Make sure players have quick feet for few seconds, before they DIG

2. Player that is hitting, will call partner name AFTER toss. DF player will quickly turn in DF READY position and DIG

3. Lay on stomach, after partner toss, quickly get up from the floor and DIG!

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP ***

🔹️ BLOCKING (PARTNERS) DRILLS (Basic level)🔹️

🔹️ 6 drills progression to cover bacic principle of blocking, such as hands positioning, footwork, eye sequence and pressing

Blocking is one of the most underrated skills in volleyball. Having players understand basic principles of blocking, at young age is key for future success.

🔹️ Drills explanation:

1 - Hands placement.
Learning proper hand positioning on the ball. 2 or 3 rounds, each round players are jumping quicker from the ground

2 - Medicine ball drill.
6lb Med ball to ensure players are having strong core while jumping, additional weight makes having hamds over the net, little harder to do. (12lb might be too heavy for young players, at the beginning)

3 - "Blocking balls"
Player that is blocking always jumps from same place. She is looking where balls are moved by partner and adjust her block by only moving her arms and placing hands on top of balls

4 - Seperating hands
Same concept like Drill 3, but now partner are seperating cushion balls randomly. Blocker is watching and learning to block balls with both arms "independently"

5 - Footwork + Hand Placement
Simmilar like Drill 1, but this time blocker is moving from side to side after every block, then making priper block on every volleyball

6 - Pressing
Player on the box gently pushing the ball forward once blocker place her hands on the ball. Blocker is PRESSING and not allowing her partner to push her back. Strong core, good hand placement are must before we press

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP ***

🔹️ 5 DEFENSIVE DRILLS FOR GROUPS OF 3 🔹️

🔹️ Groups of 3 are my favorite setup for ball control/passing/defense tyoe of drills, as they require lots of movements, communication and teamwork!

🔹️5 DRILLS explanation:

1 - No movement. Trying to create 45 degree angles for each dig

2- Shuffle steps and pass. First round of the toss, second round of the down ball

3 - One step to the left and dig, then 2 steps to the right and dig. Second round, do opposite

4 - Make 3 steps, turn and dig. Repeat.

5 - Dig down ball, run for short, finish with deep ball. Repeat.

🔹️ Note: I use these type of drills at beginning of the practice.,when we have planed higher intensity type of practice. That way players have great warm up for rest of the practice

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP *** 📢

🔹️ Team Warm Up Drill -6 steps Progression🔹️
* (From Simple to Complex)*

🔹️This is good TEAM warm up drill that starts with simple task, and gradualy build up in more complex drill that covers almost all VB elements of the game
I found it very usefull throughout season as players can see their progress with the time

🔹️For more experienced teams, or teams on a higher level, this drill can easily be modified to more complex and few more steps can be added.

Note 1: Coach initate drill from Zone 6 (free ball, down ball, serve). 2 players on other side always start in Zone 6 next to each orher. That way they immidiately start working on communication

Note 2: For teams that maybe can not swing hard and controlled, you can adjust steps 5 and 6 to do roll shots or tips, instead of full swings

Thank you for watching!

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP ***❗️

🔹️ We were trying to make a movement before every pass and open our hips toward target while passing. In same time, probably MAIN FOCUS is on platform creating proper angle to pass.

So: movement toward the ball + platform angle to setter (target)

🔹️Drill 1 : Here we are moving to the left, trying to be fully stoped as ball contact our platform which should guide ball to our setter with proper (natural) angle

🔹️Drill 2 : I created this drill in order to create non stop movement between 2 players, which should help them understand importance of clear and quick COMMUNICATION

🔹️Note 1 : Drill was recorded in zone 1 only, but we were doing same thing in zone 5. We spend more time in zone 1, so our setter can work on setting ball that is coming from zone 1

🔹️Note 2 : When it comes about passing (serve recieve), I am firm believer that all aspects are important (movement, platform angles, communication etc). Angle passing without any movement becomes "lazy passing", and IMO that is wrong when we are working with young players.

These drills are just focusing on certain passing tehniques.

📢 *** NEW DRILL DROP *** ❗️
🔹️Ball Control with conditioning🔹️

🔹️Objective: To move quick, and still be focused on the quality of the pass, especially when players feel tired.

🔹️Drill 1 - Player at the net set to herself 2 times then set to the partner. Partner pass the ball back, and run fwd, step to the 3m(10ft) line and run back before pass again
Variation : Speed it up with taking away one set from player that sets the ball.

🔹️Drill 2 - Very similar to Drill 1, player that sets now will set to herself 3 times and set to the partner, and partner needs to run around partner and run back
Variation : Speed it up with taking away one set from player that sets the ball.

🔹️Drill 3 - Partner Passing: insist on quality reps, have players being in control.of every touch
