Here’s two quick things you can do to change your mindset right now:

1) Do the hardest thing first: by doing the hardest thing first, you create a lot of momentum that will carry you through the remaining tasks you have to get done. You’ll feel accomplished right from the get go and that can be a huge boost in confidence and motivation

2) Keep your world small: don’t look at the totality of the tasks you have to perform, but rather shrink it down into manageable chunks and slowly begin to check those off your list. This way you won’t get overwhelmed and be more apt to finishing what you started

What other tips do you have to change your mindset?

Want to kick start your fitness journey for FREE? Check out our Beginners 15 Day Squat Challenge.

Squats are one of the best ways to strengthen your hips, abs, quadriceps and hamstrings. Better yet, you can do them anywhere, anytime. The challenge consists of 5 exercises that make up one set. You will start off slowly completing 25 reps total, working your way up to as many as 150 reps on day 15. No equipment is required. However, if you’d like to increase the intensity you may add free weights or a band around your thighs for the exercises. If it is too challenging for you, use a wall or chair for support.

By joining you'll also get access to our Tempo Fitness app that will enable you to see the daily workout, track your progress, and connect with other Tempo Fitness members.

PSA: it’s ok to miss a workout

This morning when I woke up I just wasn’t feeling it. I was tired, sore, and just mentally not in it.

So I didn’t work out.

Don’t beat yourself up if there’s days when you just need to miss a workout to relax and recover. It’s not the end of the world and it’s not going to set you back like you fear it might.

Take it in stride, listen to your body, and another time.

Your mental and physical health will thank you.

🤯Goals Hack🤯

Did you know you’re 42% more likely to achieve your goals if you write them down in a regular basis?

Why is that?

By writing down your goals you’re activating both hemispheres of your brain: the imaginative and creative right hemisphere, and the logic based left hemisphere.

We also process visuals 600,000 times faster than trying to imagine things, so give your brain the visual it needs to succeed.

Write down 3 of your goals on paper tonight. Put that piece of paper somewhere where you can see it daily. Your bathroom mirror, your refrigerator, your car dashboard. When it’s in your view daily, you’ll never let that goal slip through your fingers. That’s a promise!

If you’re new to training, LISTEN UP

The biggest mistake I ever made when I first started training…

Repeat after me: I don’t have to smash myself into the ground every single workout!

For years I trained this way. I thought if I wasn’t crushing myself every workout, I didn’t get a good workout. Rest days were for the weak. That’s so far from the truth.

Training this way every day and skipping rest days will do nothing but hurt you in the long run. After numerous injuries, I know this to be true.

TAKE YOUR REST DAYS SERIOUSLY.

One of the hardest things I ever have to do is admit when I’m wrong.

I think I can speak for most people when I say admitting that you’re wrong feels really uncomfortable, so we’ll fight tooth and nail to try to avoid having to come to the conclusion “you know, maybe I am wrong”

For years I always thought I had it figured out. I knew what was best for me, and I knew what it would take to enact change in my life. As I’ve grown older and more emotionally mature, I’ve begun to realize two things:

1) I’m wrong and wrong often
2) it was usually ME that kept me from changing for the better

Once I came to the realization that it was ME who was standing in my own way, worlds of opportunities began to up for me.

My ego, my insecurities, my stubbornness…. Those were all things standing in the way of positive change and growth.

Don’t let your own ego stand in the way of you becoming your best self. Think to yourself “am I my biggest hurdle?”

If you are, let’s fix it. Let’s make the change. It’s not an easy process, but it’s a worthy endeavor.

Let’s get to work!
