This year, we worked hard to design a new logo and build a website where runners could easily pre-register and find out more information about the race, and other fun things to do at Friendship Day! We also continued our tradition of offering unique hand-carved buoys to the top male and female finishers, and for the first time, we asked local businesses to help support our race.
1st National Bank has been a longtime supporter, but when other, bigger companies turned us down, we turned to you, and in true Friendship fashion, you didnโt disappoint!
Small businesses in Maine have a long history of supporting local communities by sponsoring events like Friendship Dayโsomething we deeply appreciate, and which makes our state unique. So, thank you to all of our sponsors:
Jameson Point Lobster Company, Delano Seafood, Dunbar Tree Service, Friendship Oyster Company, Andrea BOFF Gallery, Chef Robin White, Wallaceโs Market, Friendship Trap Company, Sammiโs Family Entertainment Center, Moonlit Hive, and Birdโs Nest Bed & Breakfast.
As you know, Friendship Day is the primary fundraiser for our ambulance service bill, and this year, with your help, we were able to raise over $1,000 while still providing timing services, t-shirts, and awards unique to Friendship.
We also want to thank Karrie Trebbe for directing this yearโs event, Kathy MacLeod for all her years of hard work, the Friendship Day committee, and all the other volunteers who work to make this day so special!
