To our Red Wave Families,
After 11 incredible years, this is one of the hardest announcements I’ve ever had to make 😥
For now, Red Wave Wrestling will be closing its doors.
My heart is heavy. Red Wave has never just been a wrestling club it has been a true family, a second home, and a place where kids grew not only in skill but in character. Watching your children step on the mat, gain confidence, build discipline, and form lifelong friendships has been one of the greatest honors of my life. This decision to close has not been easy to say the least. This program is deeply personal to me and to my family. It has been built with long nights, sacrifice, faith, and an unwavering belief in the wrestlers who have walked through our doors. Watching their growth, not just as wrestlers, but as young men and women. We had a front row seat to that and I will forever hold in my heart.
Beyond the athletes, this journey has brought some of the most incredible people into our life. I have built relationships that feel like family, and to those who have stood beside me with loyalty and unwavering support. Your presence, belief, and consistency have meant more than words can properly express.
To the families who stood beside me through every season, every tournament, every challenge, you hold a permanent place in my heart. We built something special together, and that can never be erased. I am deeply grateful. I am incredibly proud. And I am thankful for each and every one of you.
Over the past couple of years, I have carried this program on my own. As a woman operating in a predominantly male industry, I have faced challenges that extended far beyond the mat. A lack of adequate coaching staff has made it impossible to continue providing the level of structure and support our athletes deserve. In addition, I have endured betrayal, disloyalty, and narratives that simply do not reflect who I am or how I conduct business.
I want to be clear: I have moved and will always move with integrity, honesty, and respect. I have remained quiet through much of what has been said because I believe in handling matters with class and grace. However, if anyone ever seeks clarity, my door and my phone have and will always be open.
This chapter may be closing, but the story is not over.
When my sons return home from college, the vision is to rebuild — bigger, stronger, and better than ever. Red Wave Wrestling was never just a business. It is family. It is legacy. And it will rise again.
To every athlete and family who has trusted us over the last decade: thank you. I love you. I will continue cheering you on in every arena of life.
This is not goodbye. It’s simply “see you soon.”
With all my love and appreciation,
Lorie & kids
