Jamie's School of Fish We offer swim lessons in Clovis seasonally and Fresno year around for students as young as 6 months We treat every student as a unique individual.

A consistent year round approach will help younger students (ages 2 to 4) build and maintain skills that will give swimming confidence and knowledge around water throughout the year. We also offer advanced classes for older students to improve their competitive strokes for fitness and competition preparation. Through guided instruction, every student can learn to swim on their own and enjoy the pleasure of swimming. Our instructors are trained to move students through several achievements of independence until they become fully independent in the water. We do not use a "canned" approach to teaching swimming. Our instructors are handpicked to work with children well and then taught to teach each student uniquely. The instructor is expected to grow and find new ways to teach basic fundamentals of swimming to their students.

🍁 Heads up, Clovis families!
Our Clovis location will be closing for the season next month. If you’d like to keep your child’s swim skills growing throughout the fall and winter, we’d love to have you transfer to our Fresno location, where we swim year-round in our warm indoor pool!

We’re celebrating 2 years of Sweet Peas being open! We are so thankful for every family who has walked through our doors, played, learned, and grown with us. Here’s to many more years! 💚

Every lesson looks a little different depending on the student, but some of the skills we work on include:

🌬️ Recovery (which is simply getting a breath)
🏊 Kicking and recovery together
🫧 Jump safety

These are just a few of the vital skills that help build the foundation for your child’s swim journey. Every small step helps them grow into a safer, stronger, and more confident swimmer! 💙

We get it. Swim lessons aren’t a small expense, and for most families, they aren’t just for fun. You’re investing in a skill that can stay with your child for life—and we take that responsibility seriously.
Every child’s timeline looks different, but our goal is always the same: to help your child grow in confidence, build real skills, and eventually move through the water like nothing can stop them. 💙

🌞 Our Clovis location is where it all began! 🐠💦

Open from April–September, our outdoor Clovis pool is nestled right in the backyard of Jamie and Jon. This backyard pool is where Jamie’s School of Fish first started growing 22 years ago, and it holds such a special place in our hearts. 🫶🏻

What started in a backyard has grown into a swim family we’re so proud of. We can’t wait to make more memories with you guys each summer. 💙

No pool at home? No problem! 💦 You can still help your little swimmer build water safety habits AND swim skills right from the bathtub! 🛁🐠
Try these 5 simple activities at home:
💨 Blow bubbles — Practice gently exhaling into the water.
💦 Get comfortable with water on the face — Slowly practice getting their hair and face wet.
🖐️ Reach, don’t go — Teach kids to get a grown-up instead of entering the water to help someone.
⭐ Practice the back-float position — Ears back, eyes up, belly up, with hands-on adult support.
🦵 Work on kicks — Practice long, gentle kicks and make little splashes!
And don’t forget one of the most important habits: always ask a grown-up before getting in the water. 💙
Small practice at home can help build confidence, skills, and safer habits around the water.

Bathtub activities should always be practiced with close, hands-on adult supervision.
