According to statistics by Jan 19th of every year at least 80% of New Year’s Resolutions that were made are abandoned. So if you’ve made it this far Congratulations keep doing what you are doing you’re doing great!

Typically our Resolution are made out of good intentions but we neglect to start developing the good habits in which we need to achieve said resolution.

S.M.A.R.T is a great outline for you to get that resolution from outside of your brain and on to paper where you can make a specific and detailed plan. (1 last tip)Now that it’s written down on paper make copies of it and tape it everywhere you frequent as a reminder to hold yourself accountable.

EVERYTHING THAT GLITTERS IS NOT GOLD.

🔴Please stop believing that all the fancy footwork drills you are doing is somehow making you faster or more agile for your sport.

🔴The only ways to get faster is to: 1) apply MORE force to the ground. Creating more force starts with strength training(weight room). 2)Increase Stride Length or 3) Increase Stride frequency.

🔴 Sprinting and COD are POWERFUL movements that require MAXIMAL STRENGTH.(Weight room)

🔴Speed is in the STRENGTH of the LEGS not the “fastness” of the feet.

🔴Moral of this story
STRONGER =FASTER so find you a knowledgeable strength and conditioning coach or program and watch yourself get STRONGER then FASTER.

Oline and Dline ended a great week with 450lb sled push. They responded great to the adversity I threw at them 🦾

•Heavy sled pushes are a great way to build or improve STRENGTH, POWER and SPEED.

•Its also a great simulation of the movements our linemen see in the trenches of the game. To move such resistance safely they must have proper body alignment, keeping a neutral spine, engaged core and knees and feet being in alignment at all times.

•Lastly its a fun conditioning tool we use that is easy to recover from but hard enough to test our athletes HEAR ,WILL and MENTAL CAPACITY.
