Good morning BBRGC members! I hope everyone has had a fun filled and productive summer. A few things to touch base on real quick as we roll into our busy fall season.
● We've had several complaints involving full auto fire at our range. Id like to take a moment to remind all members that full auto fire IS NOT PERMITTED at the BBRGC ranges. Yes, this includes FRTs, slide fire/bump fire stocks, or any device that increases the fire rate of your firearm. We love these devices as much as anyone but they pose a HUGE SAFETY RISK for everyone at the range on and off the firing line, as well as surrounding property owners. THIS IS A ZERO TOLERANCE POLICY, if you are caught you will be trespassed from our range for the year on the first offense, lifetime on the second offense, no refunds no excuses.
● The 25 yard HANDGUN RANGE is for HANDGUN CALIBER CARTRIDGES ONLY. We had 4 volunteers put a lot of time and effort into building the pistol target stand last year and its already been torn up by rifle cartridges. The pistol range is not intended for cartridges with velocities higher than 2000 FPS (pretty much all rifle cartridges). This means you can not use your AR pistol chambered in 556 on the handgun range just because its technically classified as a handgun, if that makes sense. You can use the pistol range for rimfire rifles as long as the range isnt occupied, just be courteous. If you cant find time to volunteer to build or repair these things, please at least have the decency to help preserve them so they last a little while longer.
● NEW FOR 2026 if you haven't paid your annual club dues yet, or if you are a life member, there is now a liability waiver that must be signed before utilizing BBRGC facilities for club members and visitors. This is to protect the BBRGC property as well as our club members and to ensure everyone is on the same page.
● We will set up a club meeting sometime this fall and we will likely be looking to fill a few roles, if you would like to become a club officer or board member, let us know. More details to follow whenever we announce the meeting time and date.
● We will be looking for volunteers to clean up and maintain the range. This will include rebuilding target stands, making repairs to the trap and s***t houses, picking up brass and garbage around the range etc. It'll likely be on a Sunday Monday or Tuesday. Any amount of time you cqn give us will be greatly appreciated. If you cant make it out please just leave the range in better shape than when you got there and you will have done your part.
Please respect these decades long standing rules that allow our range to continue to exist. Like our ATV and snowmobile trails, we need to remember to respect the surrounding property owners and their wishes before we lose the privilege to maintain and operate a firing range.
Thank you!
