FAST Families,

We will be getting back in the water on Monday, August 22 with practice starting for returning swimmers. Returning swimmers include all who have been members of FAST at any time between January 1, 2022 through July 31, 2022. Group schedules for the fall are as follows:

All groups: M/W/F 5:30-6:45am

Gold/Sr and High School Prep (H.S. Prep bills from starting date through the start of high school practice in October)- M-Th 4:00-5:30pm

Silver - M-Th 5:45-7:15pm

Bronze - M-Th 5:45-7:00pm

No Practice Friday afternoon for any group.

Evaluations of returning swimmers will be done during the first few weeks of practice to make sure everyone is in the right group.

New swimmer orientation will be Monday - Wednesday, August 29-31 from 5:45-6:30pm.

All parent meeting will be Thursday, September 1 at 6:00pm in the pool balcony seating area.

USA Swimming is using a new registration process. All member accounts were turned off during our break. Visit our team website, fastymca.com, log in as you normally would and click the Team Registration tab to renew your membership for the season. You will select your group and pay for the first month of group dues, FAST membership fee ($20), YMCA Swim league fee ($10), and the YMCA coaches travel fee ($5). We will share information for returning members at a later date to explain the new USA Swimming process. All returning swimmers are registered with USA Swimming through December 31, 2022.

If you have emailed me directly over the past few weeks, I am working through the replies. Sorry for the slow communication. Our coaching staff is looking forward to a great short course season!

The Fremont Family YMCA would like to recognize and thank Shane Ahrens for his devotion to the YMCA community! Shane started coaching the FAST swim team at the YMCA in the summer of 2019. In the fall of 2019, he began coaching the Silver group, ages 8-16. He also works at the Dodge County Extension Office full time. He has shown not only his excellent coaching skills but his caring and patience with his swimmers since he has been at the YMCA. He takes on any task, large or small, with a smile and a positive attitude. The YMCA is very lucky that he moved to Fremont with his wife Shea in 2018, and blessed us with his swimming knowledge and expertise.

FAST swimmers and coach representing at the 2022 All-Stars meet! Elliot Vech and Layne Maxwell were Top 5 in their age group in several events which got them invited to be apart of team Midwestern!

Several best times were achieved and a lot of fun being apart of this meet!
