In other FHS golf news, Chris Tilbury has been named the new golf coach for the High school boys team! There will be a call out meeting on September 8th during Flex Time.

For those who don’t know Chris, he is a 2003 Fremont alumni, and is in the Fremont Hall of Fame for his golf career. Chris attended Bethel University where he also played golf all 4 years. Chris is a PGA teaching professional and owner of Tilbury Golf Academy here in Fremont.

So proud of these ladies! August 3rd was our first match at Glendarin, they shot a 274 to start the season. Today, 3 short weeks later, we shot a 251 which is a season best. Even though we fell to Angola, Lily improved by 6, Walynn improved by 2, Kamry, improved by 7, Mia improved by 2 and Preslie improved by 8. That is a WIN in our books! We are so proud of the effort, attitude and determination these 5 young ladies have! Next up, home match on Wednesday against Lakeland!

In girls golf, our season is a sprint, several matches right out of the gate, and very little practice. Well… this year with all the rain we’ve had plenty of practice (inside) and finally had our first actual match. All the ladies improved their scores over the first invite on 8/3, but we fell to Wawasee 181 and West Noble 257! I’m proud of these ladies and the sportsmanship they displayed. We are learning and improving each time we get to play!

The lady Eagles will be in action on Wednesday for our first home match at Zollners!
