The final indoor was not the best.
We struggled with set up on the different track conditions due to karts racing there the prior weekend and laying down a ton of rubber, and we also lacked the right gear. We showed speed and the start of the season but in these last 2 races things have just not played out in our favor. We always learn a lot during the indoor season. Now we are working on our summer schedule and prepping the cars for outdoor season.

Indoor Winternationals #5/6.

After making a few changes to the Heavy Honda for this race, we were excited to see the results, but in so many ways, this was not our day.
Fell short of the A Main by two positions in Heavy Honda heat race due to needing a gear change. Then, in attempts to push out for the B - chain fell off not once, but twice. Couldn’t get it on in the 5 cautions laps so we didn’t even make it out for the B.

Heavy 160 - started 2nd in the heat but didn’t finish due to getting run into the wall by another car. Bumping the wall caused, yet again the chain to fall off and took us out of the heat. Still made the A due there only being 10 cars in the class. Started 9th and at one point was up to 4th until the same car that took us out of the heat took us out of the A.

Frustrating to say the least, especially since both cars were proving speed and good set up, but we will be back in two weeks in hopes to finish the season strong.

As always, we are grateful for everyone helps me race:

Indoor Winternationals: Race #3/6

Saturday’s heats started the day 👎🏻.
We were strong in the lowers but then fell short in the A Mains. A lot of seat time, hard work and hard driving was put in to even get to the A’s and we’re proud of that.

Hvy Honda Heat - Started P5 - Finished P5
C Main - Started P1 - Finished P1 🏁
B Main - Started P7 - Finished P2
A Main - Started P8 - Finished P5 or 6 ????

Hvy 160 Heat - Started P2 - Finished P7
B Main - Started P7 - Finished P4
A Main - Started P10 - Finished 10th

Congratulations to all of the podium finishers.

We’ll be back in 2 weeks!

Indoor Winternationals race 2 of 6:

This was our first race in the heavy classes!

Hvy Honda: Heat race, 3rd➡️4th we struggled to find grip but still managed to hold onto 4th which puts us into the B Main, missing the A main by 1 spot.

B Main: 2nd➡️DNF, car was good in warmups but started having carburetor issues, the car was sputtering and had no power. Pulled in after not resolving the issue in the pits.

Hvy 160: Heat race, 3rd➡️DNF spun out in warmups, bent the rear pan-hard bar and knocked off the chain taking us out of the race but still made the A Main due to there only being 11 cars.

A Main: 10th➡️5th, made lots of moves on restarts and we were into 4th at one time but ended up getting passed back on the final start to finish 5th.

Not bad for our first time in the heavy classes and having no idea how the cars would react with all the added weight. Had it not been for mechanical issues and damage, we could’ve had a solid day.

Now we have a few weeks off to regroup make some small changes. Anxious to get back to the track on January 10th!

Indoor Winternationals race #1 of 6:

Leading up to race day, driver weight had been teetering between 99-102, so we ran Sr Honda and Lt 160.

The first indoor race, track conditions are never good and this didn’t really work in our favor.

Sr Honda: should’ve made the A Main straight out of the heat. Car was good and fast during warm ups, but to avoid a spun car directly in front of me, I got outside of the rubber on the track and into the debris. After, I was basically driving on ice. My finish sent me to the C Main, then made the B Main, where our night ended for Sr Honda.

Lt 160: Heat race winner!🥇 Started 2nd in the A Main, spun twice… once into the infield which again coated tires with debris and finished 👎🏻👎🏻👎🏻

We’ve been debating on how to proceed with indoors. We get one race drop, so we can proceed with the full series in Sr Honda / Lt 160 or use the first race as our drop and move up to heavy classes…which is what we are leaning toward.

The Indoor Winternationals continues to be our favorite racing. Looking forward to getting back at it in 2 weeks!
