⚠️ Drowning is the #1 cause of accidental death in children ages 1–4 in the US.

And it happens silently.

No splashing. No screaming. Just seconds.

Here are 5 things every parent must know before summer hits :

1. ALWAYS designate a "water watcher" — no phone, no talking, eyes only on the kids
2. Swim lessons reduce drowning risk by up to 88% — starting as early as age 1
3. Flotation devices are NOT a substitute for supervision
4. Kids can drown in as little as 2 inches of water (yes, even bathtubs)
5. Knowing how to float on their back could save your child's life

Save this post. Share it with every parent you know.

It might be the most important thing you share this year.

The most dangerous swimming plan is having no plan at all !

Many parents say:

- "We'll start next month."
-"We'll wait until summer."
-"We'll think about it later."

But water doesn't wait.

Swimming confidence doesn't magically appear.

And safety skills aren't learned overnight.

Every week spent waiting is a week not spent learning.

The families who see the biggest progress aren't always the most talented.

They're the ones who started.

Limited spots are available in upcoming classes.

"My Child Is Afraid of Water."

Should We Wait?

Many parents think fear means their child isn't ready.

In reality, fear is often the reason to start.

Confidence grows through small wins. Not giant leaps.

The right instructor doesn't push.

They guide.

Today's nervous swimmer can become tomorrow's confident swimmer.

Fear of water is very common. And it's nothing to be embarrassed about.

The goal isn't to force a child into the pool.

The goal is to help them feel safe, supported, and successful one step at a time.

Some of the strongest swimmers once started with fear.

Progress begins with patience.

3 Water Safety Skills Every Child Should Learn :

1. Floating on their back : A calm child can often make better decisions in the water.
2. Rolling from front to back : A key survival skill every swimmer should practice.
3. Finding and reaching the pool wall

Knowing where safety is can make all the difference.

Swimming lessons are about much more than strokes and laps.

Before children learn advanced techniques, they should develop strong water safety foundations.

These simple skills help build confidence and preparedness around water.

Water safety starts with the basics.

At SafeSplash, these essential water safety skills are taught by trained swim instructors through age-appropriate, structured lessons designed to build confidence, comfort, and safety in and around the water.

"My child is too young for swimming lessons."

Wrong.

Many parents believe children should wait until they are older before learning to swim.

The truth?

Children can begin building water familiarity and safety skills much earlier than most people realize.

Early exposure often helps children become more comfortable around water and develop confidence gradually.

Small steps today can create safer swimmers tomorrow.

Bringing a plastic bag to your swim lesson is a simple way to store wet swim clothes after class. It helps keep the rest of your bag dry and makes packing up after time in the pool much easier.

The Biggest Swimming Mistake Most Parents Don't Know They're Making !

Many parents wait until summer to start swimming lessons.

But swimming is not a summer activity.

It's a life-saving skill .

When children practice year-round, they often:

1. Build confidence faster
2. Develop stronger swimming skills
3. Become more comfortable in water
4. Waiting months can mean missing valuable learning time.
5. Small lessons today can create big results later.

Your child doesn't need to become a champion swimmer.

They need to become a safer swimmer.

Children who practice consistently throughout the year often gain confidence faster, improve their skills steadily, and become more comfortable in the water.

The best time to build water safety is before it's needed.

🏊‍♂️ Take swimming skills to the next level!

Our Intermediate classes focus on building stronger technique in the water while introducing and refining the four competitive strokes.

- Intermediate 1 helps strengthen freestyle and backstroke while beginning breaststroke with the breaststroke kick. Water safety skills continue to be reinforced along the way.
- Intermediate 2 builds on those foundations by refining freestyle, backstroke, and breaststroke while introducing butterfly through the dolphin kick. Endurance and self rescue stamina continue to grow.
- Intermediate 3 focuses on refining all four strokes through drills that improve technique, strength, and overall swimming ability.
