Saddle Up Summer Celebration

When I came up with the idea of the Saddle Up Summer Celebration, I wanted a place to have riders and handlers to go to learn, compete, but also to have a welcoming environment where people could feel supported and like they belonged.

Without the support of so many individuals this couldn't have happened. I will apologize for any I might have missed. Jill Howard was instantly on board and helped with support, ideas, and input. I am so sorry a personal emergency impacted your ability to judge.

Jon, Bailey, Kari, and Heather have been amazing board members for the nonprofit and been great at helping me keep on track with what needed to he done. They helped me round up sponsors and believed I could do this. They were on hand for every sideways shift and without their help I couldn't have done this.

Sarah Christenson and Ibby Rodgers were great clinicians and were on board from the start. Melissa Pauley did great in the rodeo queen clinic and was everywhere all at once helping. Emily Nolan did the showmanship clinic and then helped me find a Saturday judge and was willing to work a second day judging and judged for us Sunday.

Joel Condreay was a great judge and offered so many tips for the riders. He really saved the day coming in. Thank you Steph and Rich for coming in and helping with ring steward and announcing.

Irene came in and helped in the office making my Sunday roll smoother as I was ring announcing.

Thank you Julie Koch with Paper Pegasus Photography on Saturday and Cassie with Cassie Z Photography on Sunday. The pictures help me remember I did make things successful.

Barb Simmons and her horse did great cart demonstrations both days and it was fun watching Ace drive.

If I miss anyone in this list I am so sorry. Amanda, Kerri, Heather, Emilia, Ceric, KJ, Liam, Addy, Bryce, Bailey, Shaylie, Jon and Mom for being in all the blank spots and helping set up and tear down.

The beginners are looking forward to tomorrow and hope more riders come to join us. We have halter, showmanship, English, equitation, western pleasure, horsemanship, and ranch! There is something for everyone. All breeds are welcome from the shortest to the tallest! All ages and experience levels have a place here.

Today was a great day! Thank you Joel Condreay for being our last minute judge. The riders had a great time and it was a wonderful experience.

Beginner show starts today at 2 in Fremont. Tomorrow is supposed to be gorgeous! Full schedule open show tomorrow starts at 9. The ring is great and we have concessions, stuff for the kids to do, and more. Discounted office fee for riders coming in for just one day. Come join us!

Rainy days in the forecast? No need to to worry- the Saddle Up Summer Celebration here at the Christensen Arena in Fremont, NE has a covered arena AND covered stalls!

We have our Beginner Show on Saturday and our Open Show on Sunday with a full show bill...

Rain or shine, we will have a great weekend of shows!

Saddle Up Summer Celebration in Fremont at Christenson Field is officially this weekend! Rain or shine the event goes on. We have stalls available, concessions Saturday and Sunday, silent auction items, activity stations for younger siblings and random drawing prizes. We have a couple jackpot classes Saturday night and it's going to be a whole lot of fun. Come join us this weekend!

Clinics are filling up fast. Currently the ranch and equitation clinic are full for riders.

We still have openings in the showmanship and rodeo queen clinic. Auditors are welcome and we have wristbands available at the door for a very small fee of $10. If you buy wristbands by June 3 you can get them for $5. Pre-registering is required for all participants.

Come learn showmanship techniques from an experienced 4H judge and rodeo queen competition from a woman who is a multiple time former rodeo queen.
