As we race into summer this Memorial Day Weekend, let us all pause and remember the fallen that gave their lives in service to our country. Our ability to enjoy our daily pursuits including the sport of snowmobiling is only possible from the freedom secured by their sacrifice.

With Gratitude,

More Cheers Coming in 2026.

Spring may have arrived, but here in New England, the seasons move quite fast. Summers are short and fall will sneak back in here—and with that we will Race into Winter.

As we build toward October, we’ll be sharing updates on what’s new. Here’s one to get things started:

We’re adding a second beer garden.

New for 2026, it will sit just beyond the finish line—offering prime views of the grass drags and nonstop racing action. With two great spots on the farm to grab a drink, connect with friends, and take it all in, the experience just got better.

More updates are on the way. Cheers for now!

This isn’t a postcard you stick on the fridge and forget. It’s the kind you get to relive every single year. Because the only thing better than wishing you were here…is actually being there.

Race into Winter is just six months away!

You may not see the Easter Bunny this weekend—but Race into Winter 2026 will be here before you know it.

Think of the tortoise and the hare, only in this version, the hares are all throttle and no hesitation. Grass drag racers launch hard and finish even faster, with outcomes decided in fractions of a second. In this sport, winning truly comes down to a hair.

As spring settles in, it’s a good time to look further ahead. Because when fall arrives, the grass will be flying, engines will be roaring, and some of the fastest racing you’ll find anywhere on turf will be on full display.

Grass and watercross racing, aerial stunts, an awesome swap meet and vendors galore - Race into Winter 2026 is the one you won’t want to miss.

2026 Race into Winter - Grass Race Director

The New Hampshire Snowmobile Association is proud to announce Dieter Anger as the new Race Director in our Grass Drags venue at Race Into Winter in Fremont, NH!

Dieter brings 30+ years of snowmobile drag racing experience, on tracks across New England and beyond. He’s earned wins, faced challenges, built lifelong friendships, and gained a reputation for leadership and excellence in the snowmobile racing world. Since 2019, he’s also been sharing his passion with the next generation, supporting his daughter’s racing efforts while staying quite active in the sport.

Dieter and his family live in Barrington, N.H. and also previously lived in the Nashua area. They’ve been involved in snowmobile clubs in the state and find just as much enjoyment touring the trails in places like Hollis just as much as in Pittsburg. The association is excited to work with Dieter on this project as he understands the intense passion of the racers as well as the community of volunteers that are involved in hosting this event.

Race Into Winter, held at Brookvale Pines Farm, is the premier winter kickoff event here in the east—featuring Grass Drag and Watercross racing, freestyle stunts, and tens of thousands of fans celebrating the thrill of snowmobiling. Dieter will be charged with laying out a weekend of great grass racing on our track in Fremont. This work when paired with the efforts of the association’s event chairs, officers, staff, and club volunteers will make for a winning combination.

We also want to thank retiring Race Director Mike Ouellet of Colebrook, NH, and his longtime partner, Paul Bellefeuille of Waterford, Vermont, for decades of service. Mike and Paul have been the glue holding the Northeast Grass Drag Series together and they helped build Race into Winter’s Grass Drags venue into a world-class event. They’ll remain actively involved in supporting Dieter during the transition, ensuring another amazing event for racers and fans alike. A special thanks to Mike’s family for their support over the years!

Finally, a huge shout-out to the volunteers from NHSA clubs—their tireless work and dedication is truly what makes Race into Winter possible, creating an unforgettable experience for everyone passionate about snowmobiling.

Honoring Roger Wright’s Legacy – 2025 Roger Wright Memorial Award (NHSA Race into Winter - EWA Watercross)

The Eastern Watercross Association Race Director - Scott Mosher has noted that when Roger Wright became chair of the NHSA Race into Winter event in 2008 he was consistent in messaging - "Make sure the local amateurs are taken care of — including allowing Friday registrations after they are off of work.” Supporting the local community was something Roger held very close to his heart.

EWA for the Race into Winter event has created an award that would recognize the spirit of the amateur community he cared so deeply about. Thus, the Roger Wright Memorial Award was born.

This award isn’t about winning races. It’s about heart. Each year, we will select a rider who exemplifies enthusiasm, commitment, a positive attitude, respect for others, and a deep connection to the race community — just as Roger would have wanted!

This year, we’re proud to recognize Hailey Hartford #326 as the recipient of the 2025 Roger Wright Memorial Award.

Hailey not only won the women’s class but also made it to the finals in the sport ovals from a coed field of 32 riders. She was consistently on time, respectful, and never once complained. Her conduct on and off the track reflects everything this award stands for. She was given a plaque and $100, and a perpetual plaque will also be produced.

Roger’s spirit lives on through riders like Hailey, and through the community he loved so much.

Roger Wright Cup Honors a Legend at Race into Winter

On Sunday at the Race into Winter event, our grass drags program held a special bracket racing competition to award the inaugural Roger Wright Cup—a tribute to a man whose dedication to snowmobiling shaped our community.

Roger Wright was a passionate advocate for the sport. From managing the Race into Winter event to serving as a president of the New Hampshire Snowmobile Association or the countless hours volunteering at the club level in many roles—from officer to groomer operator—and so much more. Roger’s efforts were legendary, and his passing this year left a profound impact on all who knew him.

To ensure Roger’s legacy lives on, the event committee created the Roger Wright Cup. The winner receives a commemorative cup to take home, while a larger perpetual trophy—engraved with the names of each year’s champion—will be proudly displayed at the NHSA office in Tilton, NH.

This year, the honor of winning the very first Roger Wright Cup goes to Alexandria Aquaro of Pellerin-Hamel Racing, based in Pembroke, NH. Alexandria demonstrated consistency and skill throughout the day to earn the title. Congratulations on a well-earned victory!

Members of Roger’s family were present at the event to help us honor his memory. They joined Alexandria and her team for the special moment of the cup exchange—a fitting tribute to a man who gave so much to our sport. He is at the finish line, but his memory lives on!
