I had an interesting week. An imposter site www.e-flytyer.com copied my entire web site, graphics , photos , products and product descriptions. I come to find out this was based in Switzerland and 2 other countries were masking the site. I had discovered this had actually been registered since 12/25. I am beginning to develop a bad taste in my mouth about Al. I worked for about 18 months to put the site up and spent the past 2-3 years adding stuff, while not perfect it was a lot of work and just like that it was all copied and used by someone else. My web site developer Rob Giannino with Fly Fishing Journeys was a big help in pulling the imposter down. I was reluctant to mention anything since I didn’t want to draw attention to the scam site.
Sadly there isn’t a lot you can do about imposters. If anyone ordered anything from the scam site, please fill out a credit card complaint . Hopefully you’ll get your money back. We are entering a new era and I’m glad I’m near the end of my career not the beginning or middle . Amazing that someone just copied the entire thing. I suppose maybe I should feel like Sally Fields , “You like me, You really like me! “
Generally if something seems too good to be true it is. Too bad scammer, I got you this time. Please go bother someone else.
