The last couple of weeks have went a little better. We finished 7th at East Moline July 26th and came home 6 in Dubuque on August 2nd. We started 11th and made our way to 5th and got passed on the last lap. The car was much better but we still felt like it was lacking. So we sold both sets of the shocks we had and made the switch to what should be on the car, Integras with all new Swift springs built by Chris Mars at CMD Race Shocks and Mars Race Cars. We coulda had them shipped but we felt like it would be better to go pick them up and meet Chris and Jimmy in person. Everyone up there was awesome and we’re thankful that they spent the time with us even though they were trying to get everything ready to go racing themselves. We are taking this weekend off to do some maintenance on the car. Our plans are to race Davenport Aug 14, Maquoketa Aug 15, and depending on how those two nights go possibly Dubuque on Sunday the 16th and we cannot wait to see how these new shocks perform!

Racing has been a struggle as of late. 3 weeks ago we got put in the wall (1st picture) 2 weeks ago we caught caught up an another wreck (2nd & 3rd pictures) Boden got the call straightened back out (last picture) and last night we loaded up and went to Davenport and finally finished a whole night. It’s disappointing and frustrating because the last three weeks the car has been as fast as it’s ever been in hot laps and the heat races but last night in the feature we had nothing in the slick. Today is going to be a long day of going through the car and make sure everything is right. As of now debating on going to east moline tomorrow night but it’s 50/50.

Can’t thank Boden enough for the amount of work he did to get the car ready in four days and Jesse as well for all the work he does.

We can’t do it without all of the great sponsors we have either. We’re going to keep diggin we haven’t given up yet.

Heat race win

Another long overdue update. We’ve been hard at it and super busy that last few weeks. Many may have see. The broken cam in the new motor the first race out and we have come to the conclusion that it was just a bad part and luckily didn’t do much for other damage. Every week we keep improving with the MB Custom chassis. Saturday we picked up our first heat race win in this car at Maquoketa. We started the feature on the pole but faded to 5 pretty quick and got 6th in the end. We finally have good speed early in the night and now we need to carry that over into the feature.

We have a lot of people to thank and it would be impossible to do this without all of their help and support.

First Maddie for taking care of the girls and everything else she does that give me the time to do this and my father in law Jeff for getting the girls where they need to be when I can’t get home from work in time and helping on the new house and the car when I need the help

Jesse and Boden for being there all the time to help with whatever is needed and coming along to all the races.

Kristy for the support helping with the cost to dyno to make sure motor was good after fixing the broken cam.

Chris and Cj horn for the new engine and all the running that had to be done to get parts and machine work that needed to be done to fix it back up

Another night in the books and we kept digging. Battled through the feature, learned a lot, and brought the car home in one piece. Not exactly the finish we were chasing, but we’ll take the notes, get back to work, and come back stronger.

🏁 Race Weekend 🏁

Night 1 is at Maquoketa Speedway! Gates open at 4:00 PM and hot laps start at 5:45 PM. We’re ready to hit the track and see what we’ve got.

Then it’s right back at it for Night 2 on Sunday at Dubuque Fairgrounds Speedway—another chance to race hard and finish the weekend strong!
