Team Tansey

Team Tansey Team Tansey is a page that chronicles Lowell's journey with his Diabetic Alert Dog, Tansey, as they Lowell is an exceptional 13 year old boy.

He loves soccer, baseball and animals, especially dogs! He was diagnosed with Type 1 Diabetes at age 6. This disease is an overwhelming life change for anyone; imagine what it means to an active, young boy. We worked with Gilford's Golden Guardians to give Lowell all the tools in his toolbox to help manage his diabetes; this included his Diabetic Alert Dog- Tansey! Since the day we picked Tansey

up (April 1, 2016), he and Lowell have been an inseparable pair! Tansey has been Lowell’s biggest cheerleader on the soccer sidelines, his companion-watching over him at night, and his travel buddy. We have discovered this duo’s love of dock diving, and this sport has taken them all over the country. Team Tansey became the National UAD Youth Champion in 2018, and has been competing at DockDogs World Championships for the last 2 years, placing in the top 10! Another great DockDogs event at LL Bean! Eve was out due to injury, but Tansey brought his A-game!
7.424 speed retrieve! We haven’t seen him put up numbers like that in a year or more. 2nd place in finals after his first jump had him tied for first, taking second by mere inches. Great fun!
