We didn’t get one today but took Whiskey to the check station to see what he would do if he seen one. He smelled it walking across the parking lot. I guess we are gonna have to add bear tracking to our list.

Story time. Got a call on Tuesday a little before 2pm. Saying he shot this buck about 8am. Waited 3 1/2 hours before trying to track it. Then lost blood. So I asked all the questions. He said I shot low and a little far back. Told him more than likely you hit gut. I would back out and we can run it the next day. Long day at work. But 32 1/2hours and it was shot we was head down finding this deer. Whiskey took the line awesome. Then we got to the top of the hill and I stayed getting nervous. I let him work it out and he checked each side but his body language was telling me it’s not this was so we want to last blood and took a path right of the hill into the thick s**t. After working it I wasn’t sure if he was even tracking this buck anymore. So at that point I almost called it until he took me right to a new pile of blood. And off we go again. For some reason he took me to an open field and wanted to go in the woods that way. With no signs of anything I called him back. Took him to Greg to get a drink and calm down. I want back in at last blood and seen me missed a 90 (but at one point he wasn’t far from this buck and I called him back) after no more blood I brought him back in. (He did not want that break) hit that trail and off like a rocket. Made it all the way down this hill still no signs of a deer but I but trust in him and let him run it. We get down to the bottom with thick I mean thick coverage. To the point I can’t see him. I’m on hands and knees trying to get to him. At one point I asked where he was and I’m not coming in there find another way around. But he’s not pulling me. And then he shakes off. So I get up and go to see if I can see him and I see brown. I call out found him wait have to see if he has a rack. Yep we got him!!! This dog amazes me every track. When I wanna call it and throw the towel in and question if we have it as a time. He shows me we ain’t done keep on trucking. And I’m glad he showed signs to not let me give up. Congratulations to the hunter. It was one of our hardest but most rewarding tracks to date.

It was hit yesterday had no blood so we ran it this morning. Congratulations to the hunter. This boy told me from the start it was dead. Love watching this dog grow. #
