This is a day late but thanks to everyone who made the 2026 Wiffleball Tourney a success! The adult tourney went smoothly on Saturday thanks to Margo Fox, Rose Fox, Tracey Plamann, and Jen Schremp working concessions. Thanks to the long toss whisperer working her magic, Wendy Van Camp. Jason “Jocho” Jochimsen thanks for being there to do all the things. Thanks to Jeff Baker at Buzz’s for providing Becky and Klay Konrad to help get the players food. Thanks again to Joe Zellmer for helping us keep the park clean during the tourney. Thanks to all the people who helped pitch in and take down the diamonds, saving us a ton of time! It was a great day with two very competitive divisions and championship games. All in all we had a record 50 teams participate between the kids and adults tournaments, with two new divisions, an all girls kids division and a 35 and over adults division.
Tomorrow marks the 6 year anniversary of the FBC taking out a $300,000 loan for improvements on Diamond 4. In just 6 years the FBC has paid off a whopping $186,000 on the principal of the loan, with an average of over $31,000 a year off the principal. What was supposed to be a 25 year loan is on pace to be paid off in less then ten, with about 4 years to go. The tournament this past weekend helped generate enough so we will be able to pay about 1/2 of a years payments!
