Appy Orse Acres

Appy Orse Acres Riding stable Appy Orse Acres is a riding stable located on 98 acres of Wisconsin's beautiful rolling farmland and pastures.

Appy Orse has been home to many riders, young and old, for over 20 years. Owned and operated by Bernadette Ruckdashel, training and safety instruction is available to riders of all abilities. Western, English, and jumping lessons are given on quiet, healthy horses for beginner to advanced riders. Lessons are also available on owned horses. One hour long trail rides through pastures, farmland, and

woods are available to the public in the spring, summer and fall. Youngsters can enjoy a week long, overnight or day camp in June, July or August where they ride one horse and learn riding skills and form life long friendships. Bernadette opens her grounds for corporate parties/picnics, weddings, birthday parties, girl scout and boy scout troops, etc., as well as for weekend getaways where vactioners stay in an RV, enjoy bonfires, volleyball, and trail rides or lessons. Outdoor, indoor, and private run boarding is also available. There is also a non-profit club established at and associated with Appy Orse Acres called "The Willow Hill Riding Club." This club gives members and their families the opportunity to partake in different charitable events and community service, and provides young members with college grants. If you feel the need to get away from the hustle and bustle of every day life, are in town for the weekend and want a unique experience, or have "ride a horse" on your list of things to do, then Appy Orse Acres is the place for you! For more information please visit www.appyorseacres.com or call Bernadette at 262-692-9144.

Over the past two weekends two of our boarders took their trusty steeds to some local shows and did pretty dang well! Kate & Rio, who took a break from showing the past few summers, took home a bunch of blues and reds at their first show this year! And Portia & Trooper got Grand Champion in the Senior Walk Trot division! Trooper turned three this spring and this is only his fifth show EVER!

Last week we had our first residential camp of the summer. Ten girls enjoyed two lessons a day PLUS a ba****ck lesson each night. On Thursday they all went out on a trail ride (photo) and Friday evening they got to show their families what they learned in our end of camp show. We have three more FULL camps this summer and just know they'll all go as great as this one did πŸ΄β€οΈβ˜€οΈ

Spring turnout has began! Our herd will slowly be introduced to grass over the next few weeks...something they have been excited about since the grass turned green!

Resting babies 😍 Hughie (front) just turned two and Atticus (back) will be four later this summer. Both are going through growth spurts, evident by their higher rear ends, so we catch them resting quite often! Adorable ❀️

The herd going out to some "drier" pasture on this warm but soggy day. We are so lucky to have all this space for them to spread out when the mud just won't stop. Warm and sunny weather...we are SO READY FOR YOU!
