Jiu-Jitsu is the study of truth under pressure.

Not the truth we claim when life is easy.

The truth that shows up when we are tired, uncomfortable, frustrated, pinned, resisted, or forced to solve a problem we cannot talk our way out of.

On the mat, the body tells the truth.

Tension reveals fear.Panic reveals confusion.Force reveals a lack of understanding.Frustration reveals the edge of our current ability.

And that is the gift.

Jiu-Jitsu does not shame us for these things.

It gives us a place to study them.
