The River Ranch sold on February 9th. It’s a pretty exciting time for Tracey and I. It’s been a whirlwind event. We listed it, received a monster offer on day four and closed it on day nine. Wow! Our cattle will sell in consignment sales between now and late May. Be happy for us. We are excited to turn the page on a new chapter.

Ross Polk, our rut is slowing down now and this buck is staying inside the head quarters fence. Every time I went to get a roll of hay, he was laid up somewhere around the hay rows. I am guessing he is on the low end of the totem pole, because he has no interest in going back into the pasture.

Heifers for sale. We priced a half dozen of our heifers at www.RiverRanchLonghorns.com on our heifer page. If you are in the market for a heifer from our program, you will find some priced from RR Sweet Brindle Dust and RR Escondido Red. A few are out of our best cows. The pricing is not extreme, it goes $2,500 to $3,500. These heifers are bred to have a fair amount of horn, I think you will agree with their value.

Young Bulls for sale. We priced a lot of the young bulls at www.RiverRanchLonghorns.com
on our Young Bull page today. If you are in the market for one, you will find a game changer on that page. The pricing is not extreme, the fourteen bulls priced range from $1,500 to $7,500. Some of these bulls project close to 90". Our program is heavy on fast horn growth, so most of these bulls have a lot of bronze winners in the immediate pedigree. One of them (RR Tequila Sunrise) was 41" at a year old and won three bronzes this years.

The bull pictured here is RR Safari Dust. He is an SBD son that already projects 88.11".

A great weekend at the Horn Showcase. Thank you to all of the TLBAA Staff, volunteers and sponsors for making it happen.

We had seven bronze winners and five second places.

The winners were:
RR Escondido Red, TH & Composite,
RR Tequila Sunrise (an Escondido son) TTT,
RR Star Dust (SBD daughter) all three bronzes,
RR Kendall TH.

RR Star Dust has a lot of TH, but she was still over 70" at 36 months and getting close to 100" TH.
