Jess Kahn Yoga 500 e-ryt, RYS, YACEP & Board Certified Holistic Nutrition & Wellness Coach I can also be available via Skype or FaceTime for clients located out of area.

As a Yoga Teacher and Certified Health Coach, my intention is to help people become the best version of themselves possible. My belief is that feeling good all begins with finding the connection to body, mind and spirit. After seeing how small changes can make such a big difference in myself, I wanted to help others striving to live healthier and happier lives. Through the curriculum at Institute

of Integrative Nutrition, I have studied all the major dietary theories and am able to help you discover what approach works best for you, wherever you are in life. Together, we will find the foods and lifestyle choices that best support you to make gradual, lifelong changes to reach your current and future health goals. I am available for private or small group consultation (health coaching, yoga instruction or both), in home or in studio. Rates will be discussed during first consultation. I am a current resident of Fredericksburg, Va where I teach public classes at Dragonfly Yoga Studio in Downtown Fredericksburg. We have classes suitable for all levels of practice. Additionally, we offer regular workshops and a 200 Hour Yoga Teacher Training Program.

I recorded this reel Thursday morning as a post class reflection, before I knew that my mom would call an hour later with the news that my Papa Don had passed away.

For obvious reasons, I never posted the reel.

But listening back now, knowing what was still to come, I’m struck by how its message seems to meet me in this moment—and how deeply it resonates with the experience of losing someone you love.

What a blessing it is to exist in this human form and feel it all—to love, experience joy, grieve, hold on, let go, and ache for more time.

Even when it hurts beyond words, there is something sacred about having been here to feel it at all.

I am heartbroken, but I’m also so happy for my Papa Don. I believe he has returned home to Heaven and into the loving embrace of God.

For now, go love your people. Let them love you. Feel all of it.

What a blessing it is to have loved someone enough to grieve them.

All my love. 🤍

Every time you show up for yourself, you are building trust.

Every promise you make—and keep—becomes a small piece of evidence: I can rely on myself. I can trust myself. I am willing to follow through.

And it doesn’t have to begin with something monumental.

The smallest shifts matter. The quiet commitments matter. The choices no one else sees matter.

Because over time, those small acts begin to compound. What once felt like a tiny change becomes a new pattern. A new way of being. A greater capacity to step into the life you are creating.

And as we expand, we begin signaling that we are ready for more.

There is something beautiful about thinking of this relationship with life as a call and response. We set an intention. We listen. We act. We plan. We adjust. We keep showing up. And then we remain open to how life responds.

So whatever you are growing toward, call it in.

Believe in the possibility of it—but meet that belief with action.

Keep the promises that are aligned with your heart and your integrity. Take the next step. Then the next one.

You don’t have to become everything overnight.

Just keep showing up.

Small promises. Kept consistently.
Self-trust built over time.
Intention followed by action.
Expansion met with the courage to step into it.

And perhaps, one day, you’ll look around and realize that all of those seemingly small choices created something far more magnificent than you could have imagined. ✨

Take good care 💋🤍

Forty Six✨

Another trip around the sun. Another solar return. And today, instead of asking for anything, I want to give something to you.

45 taught me so much about what wellness really means.

It isn’t about having everything figured out. It isn’t about perfect routines, doing more, or somehow avoiding the harder parts of being human.

For me, wellness has become the practice of returning.

Returning to my body.
Returning to what I know.
Returning to what feels true.
Returning to myself.

This past year held so much—love, loss, growth, family, travel, teaching, change, joy, grief and some really beautiful expansion. And I’m grateful for all of it.

Somewhere along the way, the idea for The Wellness Reset: A Seven-Day Guide for Returning to Yourself was born.

And today, on my 46th birthday, I’m giving it to you. 🤍

My new complimentary e-book is officially available on my website.

Seven days. Simple practices. Small invitations to reconnect with yourself and remember that wellness doesn’t always require becoming something new.

Sometimes, it’s simply about coming home to who you already are.

The Wellness Reset is here, and it is yours to keep 🤍

We are so quick to label our experiences.

Good or bad.
Right or wrong.
Fair or unfair.
Just or unjust.

But our human experience was never meant to be that black and white.

We are capable of feeling an entire spectrum of emotion — love, joy, elation, peace, sadness, grief, anger, rage, uncertainty, hope — and sometimes many of those things can exist within us at the exact same time.

So why would we try to reduce something so expansive into such limiting terms?

What if, instead of immediately deciding whether something is good or bad, we allowed ourselves to actually feel the experience first?

Does this feel light or heavy?
Does it feel honest?
Does it feel true?
Am I in alignment with myself here—or am I not?
Is there joy here? Sadness? Resistance? Expansion?

There is so much more information available to us when we stop rushing to judge the experience and become curious about how we are actually experiencing it.

Because something can be painful and still be meaningful.
Something can feel heavy and still be right.
Something can bring sadness and gratitude.
Something can challenge us and expand us at the same time.

Maybe the invitation isn’t to decide so quickly what an experience is.

Maybe the invitation is to notice who we are within it.

To see ourselves more clearly.
To trust what we feel.
To meet ourselves with honesty.

And perhaps, when we stop trying to fit our lives into black and white categories, we create space for something far more personal and meaningful:

The truth of our own experience 🤍

✨ WEEKEND ONE — YOGA TEACHER TRAINING ✨

And just like that… we’ve begun 🤍

Eleven women. Some new faces, some old friends, and one beautiful shared space where we get to learn, grow, challenge ourselves, and discover what it really means to step into the role of teacher.

Our first weekend together was SO amazing.

We started with the foundations—the pieces that may seem simple, but ultimately become the building blocks for everything that comes next.

We learned the basics of cueing and how our words can create clarity and confidence for our students. We talked about setting up a space to teach and how the environment we create can shape an experience before we ever teach the first pose.

We explored basic alignment, broke down postures, asked questions, got curious, and started looking at yoga through the eyes of a teacher rather than only as a student.

We also practiced something that can sometimes feel harder than any pose: being still.

Learning how to sit. How to breathe. How to observe. How to begin creating a meditation practice that feels accessible, sustainable, and our own.

And then… PRACTICE TEACHING!!! 🙌🏼

Watching these women begin to find their voices, support one another, laugh together, get a little uncomfortable, try again, and realize I can actually do this was probably my favorite part.

There is something so special about the beginning. We don’t know yet exactly who we’ll be on the other side of this experience. We’re simply showing up, laying the foundation, and trusting that with practice, repetition, curiosity, and courage, everything will continue to unfold.

Eleven women. Eleven individual stories. Eleven unique voices.

And we are just getting started. ✨

Weekend One, you were AMAZING.
Here’s to everything still to come. 🤍🧘🏼‍♀️

I used to think that when something disrupted my routine, it was getting in my way.

A change of plans. An unexpected interruption. Something that pulled me away from what felt comfortable, familiar, and predictable.

And because I’m someone who feels deeply rooted in routine, those moments used to irritate me. I would resist them instead of asking what they might be here to teach me.

But over time—and through repetition, awareness, and practice—I’ve learned to shift my perception.

What if this isn’t happening TO me?
What if it’s happening FOR me?

That one shift changes everything.

Maybe the change in direction is opening a door I couldn’t see before.
Maybe the interruption is asking me to slow down.
Maybe the uncertainty is building resilience.
Maybe the timing isn’t wrong at all.
Maybe I am exactly where I need to be.

Trust the process.
Trust the timing.
Trust yourself.

Growth doesn’t always look like moving forward according to the plan. Sometimes growth is becoming the person who can remain grounded when the plan changes.

There is so much freedom in realizing that we don’t have to control every circumstance to be at peace within it.

Everything is possible.

And sometimes, the peace we’re searching for isn’t waiting on the other side of our circumstances changing.

It’s waiting inside the way we choose to see them 🤍

Your foundation is everything. ✨

In yoga, we learn to build from the ground up. Before we expand, reach, balance, or move into something bigger, we establish our base.

Life asks the same of us.

Your home base is the place within yourself that you know how to return to. It’s where you recognize yourself. Where you feel grounded, steady, connected and strong.

Because you cannot build a beautiful life on an unstable foundation.

When you know what it feels like to be rooted in yourself, you begin to trust yourself.

And when you trust your foundation, something shifts.

You stop shrinking.

You stop questioning whether you belong in the spaces you’ve worked so hard to enter.

You stand taller.
You take up space.
You move with confidence.
You allow yourself to expand.

And from there, you build.

You build the dreams.
You build the relationships.
You build the work.
You build the life.

Not on sand, but on something with structural integrity—something strong enough to hold the weight of everything you are becoming.

Build your foundation beautifully.

Build it intentionally.

Build something you can keep coming home to, again and again.

Because ultimately, what we build upon becomes what we build beyond ourselves.

That is our legacy. 🤍

There is something about seeing the world that changes us ✨

Not because we escape our lives, but because we return to them with new eyes.

Every place I’ve had the privilege to visit has taught me something different. The kindness of strangers. The beauty of slowing down. The joy of sharing a meal. The reminder that, although our languages and traditions may be different, our humanity is beautifully the same.

That is why I love retreat travel so much.

Yes, we practice yoga.
Yes, we eat incredible food.
Yes, we stay in beautiful places.

But what we’re really doing is opening our hearts to the extraordinary beauty of this world and allowing it to shape us.

Whether you’re dreaming of…
🌿 Costa Rica for your first retreat experience
🛕 Bali for spiritual growth and transformation
🤍 Greece for luxury, connection, and Mediterranean magic
⛰️ Peru for adventure, personal growth, and one of the world’s greatest bucket-list destinations…

…there isn’t a “best” retreat.

There is only the one that is calling you right now.

My greatest hope is that wherever we travel together, you don’t just collect passport stamps; you collect perspective. That you come home feeling stronger, more connected, more grateful, and more in awe of the incredible world we’ve been given to explore 🙌🏻

The world is breathtaking.

Let’s go see more of it together. 🌎🤍✈️

🇵🇪 PERU IS HERE! 🇵🇪

Some places simply call to your heart.

Peru has been on my bucket list for years, and I couldn’t be more excited to finally invite you to experience this incredible country with me.

Imagine practicing wellness in the Sacred Valley beneath the Andes Mountains, exploring ancient Incan history, wandering colorful markets, kayaking on crystal-clear waters, learning to cook authentic Peruvian cuisine, riding the breathtaking Vistadome train, and standing before one of the Seven Wonders of the World—Machu Picchu.

But as many of you already know…

These retreats are about so much more than the destination.

They’re about stepping away from the busyness of everyday life.

Finding adventure.

Laughing until your cheeks hurt.

Sharing meals with incredible people.

Growing in confidence.

Making lifelong friendships.

And returning home with memories that stay with you forever.

If you’ve been waiting for the right adventure…this might just be it.

I would be absolutely honored to experience Peru with you.

Registration is now open, and I can’t wait to share this unforgettable journey together.
