What: Election of booster club board members
When: August 1, 2024 at 7:30 pm

We will be sharing booster club information for the Stafford Cross Country and Track & Field Booster Club and holding elections for board members for the 2024-2025 Cross Country and Track seasons. If you have an athlete on the team(s), your family is automatically a booster club member and gets a vote.

Q & A

Q. What is the booster club?
A. The sole purpose of the booster club is to support the SHS Cross Country and Track & Field teams.

Q. What does the booster club do?
A. The booster club organizes fundraisers for the teams, plans concessions for home meets, holds the end-of-season banquets, handles sign-ups, and conducts club meetings.

Q. What positions are on the board?
A. President, Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary, and Parent Volunteer Coordinator.

Q. What does each position entail?
A. President- This officer manages the general affairs of the club and serves as a focal point for monitoring schedules and progress. Vice President- This officer performs all the duties and functions of the president in the event of his/her absence. He/she is responsible for making sure the workload is distributed amongst the officers. Treasurer- This officer is responsible for executing all monetary transactions authorized by the board. Secretary- This officer is responsible for sending out notices and agendas for meetings as well as keeping the minutes for all meetings and posting them. Volunteer Coordinator- This officer is responsible for addressing the needs of the team (volunteers and events).

Q. How can I run for a position?
A. Email the current board at [email protected]

Q. How do people get elected?
A. During this meeting positions will be filled according to the majority vote.

Serving on the board allows you to work with our amazing coaches to make the seasons run smoothly for our athletes. During this short meeting, the new board positions will be voted on. Remember to email the current board if you would like to run for a position. Please select the appropriate option on the poll so that we can plan enough cookies and lemonade. See you there!

***Don’t forget to sign up for the triathlon this Saturday! Anyone can help, this is a fundraiser for the cross country and track teams. The more volunteers that we have, the more money we make! ***

Calling all athletes, families, alumni & even friends... We are in desperate need of volunteers for our triathalon fundraiser next weekend (Colonial Beach, Sunday 6/23/24). It's a fun, easy morning....but we need more volunteers before we will earn any money!

The track & XC teams are continuing to raise funds to support meet fees, banquets and equipment needs. Equipment needs include blocks, shot puts, medicine balls, discus, high jump pad, stop watches, parachutes, etc. If we come out in numbers we can easily knock a huge part of our fundraising needs out as we are paid by the number of volunteers.

We will be helping with body marking, course monitoring and finish line duties. We receive t-shirts and they feed us well while we are there. Both of the last 2 years we had a great time and it made for great team bonding!

Check out the $ amounts we can earn:

10 VOLUNTEERS = $200

15 VOLUNTEERS = $300

20 VOLUNTEERS = $500

25 VOLUNTEERS = $600

30 VOLUNTEERS = $700

35 VOLUNTEERS = $800

40 VOLUNTEERS = $1000

Also, athletes can sign up to bring friends, family, and friends of the family etc....to count towards our fundraising efforts!!
