UMW Rowing is still here! Today our rowers braved the cold and went out to Hope Springs Marina—we did boat maintenance and set up so we can start our season once it gets warm(er)!

Hope everyone's summer is going well! The wonderful Coach Adams retired this spring so UMW Rowing has been looking for a new coach and we could use your help! If there is anyone who might be interested let us know! We practice at Hope Springs Marina (about a 20-30 minute drive from Occoquan or a 20 minute minute drive from Fredericksburg)!

And that’s a wrap. The UMW Rowing team finished up their season this past Saturday at the MARCs championships. Special congratulations are in order for our Men’s Novice 4+ who took home the gold against some great competition.

We wish our seniors good luck in their future endeavors and we thank them for the time spent and effort given over their careers.

Last night the team attended the UMW Athletic Banquet where we celebrated the successes of our fellow athletes over the past year with a great dinner.

Our season isn’t over yet as we head to the Mid Atlantic Region Conference Championships this weekend!

UMW had a very strong showing at Kerr Cup against some fierce competition.

The men’s novice 4+ earned a top 2 finish in their heat sending them to Grand finals where they placed 5th!

The women’s V8+ had a fourth place finish in heats putting them into the petite final which they won beating Johnson and Wales University and Bryn Mawr B.

The men’s V8+ had a tough heat where they placed 6th but had a strong showing in second petite finals where they placed 3rd.

Great job to all rowers and coxswains, we’re looking forward to the Mid-Atlantic Region Conference Championship next Saturday!
