Unfortunately, a lot of parents are having to inform their kids that the kiddie parade, put on by the local VFW, has been cancelled. I know my daughter was excited to be dressed up and show off her decorated bike. While unfortunate, it is a completely understandable, and somewhat expected, choice.

If your kid was all set to show a little patriotic pride, we would love to have them join in. Nobody expects every vehicle to be all dolled up and ready for the Rose Parade, but I'm sure it would make for quite a few smiling kids to feel a part of the festivities. Shoot, if you have a friend already driving, I'm sure they would be glad to open up a window seat for your little one to wave to the neighborhood.
Also, for all of those in our community staying home, let us know which streets would appreciate a slow drive by from a few of the parade drivers. This isn't just for folks shopping main. This is for the people of Fredericksburg.

Howdy y'all

Not sure about everyone else, but I'm fired up and ready for a great 4th of July. I know things have been changing for many, on top of keeping together this bustling town of ranches, wineries, and storefronts, but I'm ready for some great town fireworks, the kiddie parade, and the Slow Cruise down Main St. Join us, if you feel that patriotic spirit, and just have to show it off. Decorate those trucks and cars, dress up in red, white, and blue, and celebrate the freedoms and independence we enjoy in this amazing country.
If you don't want to join, that's fine, because I'm sure you are having an awesome time with your family. If you stop to watch, please be mindful of the health and safety of not just yourself, but those around you.
(Totally not an ad, but the green dollar store in town had a bunch of cheap items to decorate with)

Just want to throw a HUGE shoutout to my wonderful husband, Matt Egli, for creating this page, as well as Danny Guerra and Ken Greer for all that y’all have done to make this page what it is!!! All 3 of y’all are absolutely amazing for what y’all are doing for our community!!!!

The traditional parade committee has done a wonderful job over the years, and I have no doubt that they plan to continue their great volunteer service to our town. Anyone formerly involved with the committee, or anyone previously signed up to participate, would be a more than welcome addition to our efforts.
I find it real difficult to believe that all of those great people, eager to join in on the festivities, just simply lost that attitude. This town deserves the best.
