This game was the annual Senior Night, headlined by our 8 seniors:

Maddie Cederdahl
Holly Coffey
Olivia Feinberg
Katie Garza
Kara Keiper
Gaelin Hirabayashi
Erika Nepomuceno
Maddie Sarro

The game turned out to be a 7-0 blowout, with three goals scored in the first half and four in the second.

At half time, Coach Nichols emphasized basics and warned the girls not to let up.

Though in prior years I preferred to limit each album to about 50 of the best photos, since I've not attended many games, I allowed more than 100 in this album to be sure there are photos of every player available for download, use in the annual Banquet, etc. etc.

2015 UHS GV Soccer vs Winston Churchill HS

Winston Churchill HS pretty much dominated the first half, making things look pretty bleak for the Hawks. Then Coach Nichols calmly told the girls that they were doing fine, and that he expected them to score at least two goals in the second half for the win. UHS ended up scoring 3.

There's no sugarcoating this one: #1 Seed Linganore simply crushed #2 Seed Urbana in this third round playoff game. It was 4-0 at halftime, 5-0 at one point, before UHS scored a goal before the final whistle blew.

Despite the last defeat, UHS has a lot to look forward next season with many of the key players returning.

A note from the photographer: I'm sorry for the lower quality of these shots. For some reason I set up my camera improperly and as a result got few good shots this game. Most are quite a bit fuzzier / softer than you've seen in previous albums.

In the second playoff game, things looked pretty grim for UHS at halftime as they were down 0-1. Despite UHS dominating play, the North Hagerstown girls managed to score about halfway thru the first half. After that, NHHS appeared emboldened, attacking at will, while UHS seemed deflated.

Fortunately things turned around in the second half, with UHS exploding with 4 unanswered goals; the last one with but a few seconds to go. Final result: a dominating 4-1 UHS win.

On to round 3 of the playoffs: UHS's opponent will be Linganore HS, who won 0-1 in during the regular season.

In this first playoff game, #2 Seeded UHS thoroughly outmatched Frederick HS 6-0. The game was unusual in that it started at 4p; a nice change from the regular season night games.
