Had an awesome day with 9 yr old Corwin and his dad Matt today on private water! It was his birthday present to fish new water on the Fraser. He wanted to catch a 20” trout on a flyrod and they caught 2!

Fun day! We had a large group of 18 anglers today at Pumphouse. PMD nymphs were working well. Saw some red quill in the early morning. PMD & yellow Sally’s were coming off throughout the day. Everyone seemed happy and we think everyone caught at least one trout.

Colorado River Update

The Upper Colorado near Grand Lake is running! We haven’t seen flows like this since 2014, with 1,600+ CFS coming out of Lake Granby.

The Colorado near Pumphouse is running just over 3,000 CFS (Cubic Feet Per Second). If you’re floating wear your PFD’s and stay safe out there. A few patterns we recommended are Pat’s Rubber Legs, Chubby Chernobyl’s, Perdigons, Rusty Trombone’s, and the Spanish Bullet #16.

Not even eating it on a dare! Wonder if salmon flies have more protein than other bugs along the CO River? Hmmmm.

With approx. 3,600 csf, slow moving water is where these trout were found on the upper Colorado yesterday. CDC pheasant tails in the morning and in little pockets of calm water where the fish were feeding, PMDs were the ticket.

Andros Island, Bahamas Bonefish

A few of our guides decided to tackle the “Bonefish Capital of the World” the end of March on a DIY (Do it Yourself) trip. But… They did cheat, the guides went out with the local Bahamian guides on the last day!

Here you can see a few grip n’ grins and a few memories Ross, Nelson, and Mike had while on the flats!
