Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park

Dog Sled Rides of Winter Park It is mixed emotions that we announce that we have closed permanently. Our last winter, sledding season was 2018-19. We have other company recs on our website.

Permanently closed.

We, essentially, got squeezed out by industrial developments surrounding our kennel/home.

Ashley Marischal Keith....I hope you see this. I can not respond to your message in messenger.

Hi!! Yay! I'm so glad to know she is retired into a pet home. No, Emerald was a dog we had adopted from Wyoming. She came to us shy and unsure of herself but very very sweet. Did you adopt her from Krabloonik or Mountain Mushers? I can't quite remember who we sent her to. We had an Eminent Domain with the town of Winter Park because they needed our property for a resort shuttle bus barn. Unfortunately, they did not take into account our business and our dogs so we had to get out of the dog sled tourism business. It was a sad, depressing, grief stricken blur when we made that choice and said goodbye to 54 dogs over a 2 month period. All went to either other kennels or homes. Emerald was one that went to a kennel. We have been contacted by at least 10 people that have adopted a dog that was in our care at some point. Can not tell you how much this makes that pain lessen!!!

Rest easy and enjoy the endless runs on those runners with all those four legged souls that went before you.

In April of 2019 we made the heart breaking decision to shut down our dog sledding business. We were faced with a dangerous business neighbor and a separate, very large scale government development planned for the property adjacent to our kennel. After 20+ years in this business, which we ran with integrity and success, we decided to listen to the signs and make a monumental change in lifestyle and careers. We had several merchandise items left over that we have saved and hoped to sell or give away. Last week our county suffered tremendous loss due to the in Grand County, CO and we determined that these unworn, new with tags clothing items and stuffies should be given away to those in most need. I took about 150 pieces to the evacuation center in CO. The following day I saw one on a lady in Safeway and it made me proud to know we helped. I hope that those that received these understand the hope, love and gratitude that went with them. Giving these to those in need is just one more positive aspect of the company we ran and loved. Giving these away helped ease our pain a little more.

Oh Molly, if only you were being graded on personality, enthusiasm and cuteness...you'd have past for certain!!

Most of our dogs would not have passed the sit stay, either. Run, chase..they have that down.

Molly the Boxer is just too funny!

We feel you kid.

We do not promote this kind of behavior with anyone around a dog that doesn't know them but we have to admit....we definitely know how he feels.

Our newest pack member has settled in very well over the past month. He's making friends with the crew, best friends with one of Jeff's main leaders, best friends with some humming birds, LOVES his humans, has incredibly respectful dog to dog manners, learning basic obedience, hiking short hikes, losing tiny razor sharp teeth and learning what he can NOT chew on or destroy...if I catch him in time...
