Many already know this, but for those who are looking for current Frankton Eagles cross country and track news, this page is no longer being updated as I am no longer coaching at Frankton or living in the area. The page is still online for the many amazing memories built up over the years.

For a final posting, I did want to highlight the many Frankton athletes who are currently competing in college (with two who finished competing last year). It has been fun seeing you represent your new schools (and Frankton) so admirably, and I am excited to see what the upcoming seasons hold for you!

The Frankton cross country and track family lost one of their own this week. This afternoon, we held a memorial run to honor the life of Kyran Planalp. We hugged, shed a few tears, shared our favorite memories of Kyran, ran the Maple course loop which Kyran ran 100s of time in his life, and prayed together.

To Jericho, Loranda, Keegan, Mykia, and Evan, we love you. You are in our thoughts and prayers!

Kyran, it was a blessing to have you in my life. While in one sense I was your teacher and coach, you were more than just an athlete and student to me. You were loved by me and your teammates.

To any who are hurting and going through a rough time, always feel free to reach out. You may have graduated, and I may have moved away, but we weren't just a team. We were a family. That relationship doesn't end with your graduation, so don't hesitate to reach out if needed!

Frankton's Sydney Duncan stepped out of the background and into the school record books this season en route to being named the THB Sports Girls Track Athlete of the Year.

Fifth place finish for Sydney at the Midwest Meet of Champions at Marian University today. What an honor for her and a great way to finish off a fantastic senior season.

Indiana All Star: Congratulations to Sydney Duncan who was selected to be an Indiana All-Star. Sydney competes at the Midwest Meet of Champions today at Marian University. Sydney, your great season continues. Best of luck.

All State Performance!

Congratulations to Sydney Duncan who placed 8th at the State Meet today. While I think it is impossible to ever fully determine who the best athlete in school history is, the reality is that Sydney Duncan has to be in the conversation. When an athlete breaks the school record in the shot put multiple times while also breaking the school record in the 4 x 100m, that's pretty impressive. However, also ranking top 10 in school history in the discus and 100m just adds to her resume. While Sydney's list of accomplishments is something to be proud of, she's just a great person. She is one of the hardest workers both as an athlete and as a student. She's also respectful and kind and conscientious. Sydney, it's been a pleasure working with you. I wish you all of the best in the future and look forward to even greater successes in your future! God bless.

Thank you to the Trissels/Planalps, the Smiths, and the track team for making me feel so special last night and this week. Last night, I had noticed Mykia bringing in a present to the meet and wondered who it was for. Come to find out, it was for me. Mykia and the team presented it to me at the end of the meet, and it was a beautiful blanket with pictures of my athletes through the years. I definitely cried leaving the track last night and for the first several minutes of the ride home. Also, several of the team members wrote letters to me which I read when I got home. At the banquet on Monday, the Smiths presented me with a picture framed filled with pictures of Hunter and me over the years. Thank you to our athletes (and their parents) for being a special group who cares for others and shows their appreciation so openly.

Regional Champion and State Meet Qualifier! Congratulations to Sydney Duncan who won the Fort Wayne Carroll Regional tonight. Sydney dominated the competition and beat 2nd place by over 3 feet. For those who are not aware, track is still a single class sport in Indiana which makes Sydney's win even more impressive. Best of luck at the State Meet next week. You deserve this opportunity!

School Record! Congratulations to our girls 4 x 100m relay who set the school record tonight at the Fort Wayne Carroll Regional. The girls ran a huge season best and ran 51.54 to win their heat. Relay members are Skyler Drake, Sydney Duncan, Eva Bott, and Bella Dean. We adjusted our runups yesterday. Thanks to the girls for being willing to do something different the day before a meet. Their willingness to buy in and do whatever it takes to get better is why they were rewarded with the record tonight. Well deserved, and I am very proud of them!
