Few weeks ago one of my newest students competed at his first kickboxing competition despite coming up short, Logan has been training with me for only two months. He has made insane progress on his fitness and his skills. He made weight the first time and despite the nerves he showed up, made no excuses and tried his best and did great. They added someone to his bracket 10 mins before his match so he couldn’t go for a 3rd place spot unfortunately. He can’t wait for the next one and it’s exciting to see how much he grows through the next 6 months! He will be competing along side Trysten at the Fall Classic Combat competition in October next 🥊

Competed at FUJI BJJ Summer Championship Series in Kingsport TN today for my first time as a blue belt. My 2nd competition this year just a couple weeks from the last one, I did this with two hours of sleep and the matches had no breaks in between. Gold in No Gi with winning 2/3 matches. Lost first by points, won the second and third via submission. Silver in Gi with one win by points and one loss by points in finals. Had the fastest submission of the event in 20 secs. Definitely a great experience to add to the resume.
Trysten came up short today but I’m overall proud of him for testing himself and avoiding the submissions, he’s also competing next weekend in Kickboxing at the Summer Challenge! God is good 🙏

Newbreed Asheville was a major success!
Double gold in no Gi and Gi executive division with 4 submission wins. Two armbars, one mounted guillotine and one bow and arrow choke. Secured the fastest submission of the day under 5 seconds with a flying armbar! Got to see my assistant coach and teammates perform well and bring home gold and silver! Overall a great day 💪

Congrats to Trysten on his 3rd place win this past weekend at The Warrior Cup 6 in Knoxville, TN for his first kickboxing tournament.
Trysten has been training with me since he was 14 years old, being bullied as a kid in school he wanted to learn self defense and how to protect himself from others. Over the years he showed the dedication and hard work all paid off! Onto the next, he will be competing in several more this year!
