Baltimore Grotto Pumpkin Hunt

Baltimore Grotto Pumpkin Hunt The 2023 Pumpkin Hunt, sponsored by the Baltimore Grotto, will take place Oct. 21 at 9 a.m. It puts a caver’s experience, fitness and intellect to the test.

The Baltimore Grotto’s Pumpkin Hunt takes place the weekend before Halloween each year in Franklin, West Virginia. Participants compete in teams of 5-10 people, and race from cave to cave collecting clues. The winning team claims the Great Pumpkin, and writes their names on the trophy… and history.

BIG Thanks to The Monongahela Mothmen for putting on an amazing hunt! Everyone had a blast! We appreciate all the time and effort you put into making it a fun event for all. Looking forward to some pics and vids. Congrats to Gonzo for taking first place. They will be announcing next year's hunt date soon. Here are cabin assignments for Pumpkin Hunt 2025 at Thornsprings. Cabin 1-Kim Fleishman, 2-Emily Shipman, 3-Lloyd Pusey, 4-Austin Eberman, 5-1-Jake Kramer, 5-3-Stacie Zelenka, 6-Mary Cugini, 7-John Judge, 8-John Judge Family, 9-Jimmy Boltralik.
