Tremendous experience for the North Cobb Christian School team to play in the Truist Park stadium of last World Series Champions Atlanta Braves.
Eagles got things started in the first inning. Nick Stinson grounded out, scoring one run.
Eagles scored six runs in the third inning. Eagles's offense in the inning came from a single by Lukas Farris, a fielder's choice by Jackson Uggla, and a double by Carlos Martans.
Blake Dean earned the victory on the pitcher's mound for Eagles. The righthander allowed three hits and four runs over three innings, striking out five. Ross Rhea and Tobias Rupp entered the game out of the bullpen and helped to close out the game in relief.
#25 took the loss for Locust Grove. The pitcher went two-thirds of an inning, allowing six runs on three hits and striking out one.
Eagles tallied nine hits on the day. Michael Mullinax, Brock Parker, and Martans each had multiple hits for Eagles. Mullinax went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead Eagles in hits. Eagles tore up the base paths, as two players stole at least two bases. Farris led the way with two. Great game for Ronaldo Rivera.
Next Thursday they will have a decisive game against Mount Parant in the region championship at NCCS.
