A year of habits….
I started this Instagram in 2019 to stay accountable with a workout program I was following-
Overtime, I found my own passion in fitness and with a background in athletic training courses, physical therapy prereq courses and tons of anatomy and physiology courses I decide to pursue personal training.
After I had Reagan, I really made working out a habit. It was my alone, quiet time. Even better- I had more energy after my workouts and an overall happier mood, less depression and less anxiety.
It didn’t hurt that I was losing the weight that I always had wanted to lose but could never ‘stick to it’. I had always tried the drastic, quick fixes, new fad diets, anything and everything. None of it ever worked.. or lasted.
What did work?
My ‘why’. Why do I want to workout why do I want to move my body? I have felt the effects and love them. I want to always be healthy to run with my kids and play with my kids and hike with my kids and then their kids. How do you picture your future?? Are you actively working towards what you picture?
I set small goals, I stuck to them (not perfectly, but kept going).
Start with that motivation- set the goals- make habits- keep going.
After Addison it was different. I didn’t have PPD with Reagan, so this was a whole new post partum for me. Luckily, I have the greatest support system in the world ( 😘). And luckily we have the same goals and important values for our family.
Lots of ups and downs this year and a lot of times I didn’t think i was making progress. JUST KEEP GOING.
The pictures- today! 163 pounds, after a year of consistency and showing up even when I didn’t want to. Also, taking time off when I needed it and nursing a hip flexor injury. And about a week before Addison arrived 🥰 I was 205 pounds the day she arrived- I’ll add- I worked out most of my pregnancy as well. The first trimester was rough and I was sick. But when I felt good enough I stuck to strength training and running. Towards the end I just walked.
DO IT TO IT
