Ronny Marlow’s and Will Mealer’s State Champion boards are now added to the state champion wall.

Georgia FCA Wrestling representatives Mike Mason and Karen Mason presented Pamela Dominguez-Vasquez with the honor of being named Georgia’s FCA Girls Wrestler of the Year.

Pamela also received a $1,000 scholarship to support her college tuition.

Congratulations, Pamela — we are so proud of you.

As you transition into your future as a teacher and coach, may you continue to use wrestling as a means to honor God and point others to Jesus.

In a cross-coverage playoff game, 16 seed Heard County's girls knock off 1 seed Bremen, 66-62.

Azhia Kendall (pictured) scored 21, including 19 in the first half. Majesty Ware led the Braves with 23.

As this season came to an end, us coaches can’t help but think about how proud we are of these kids and how much they grew this season. The lessons learned and memories made will last a lifetime.

No one sees the hours these kids put into this sport — offseason wrestling, morning workouts before school, and the daily grind of wrestling season. That’s what it truly takes to be a wrestler. All of this is necessary to be successful in wrestling, but more importantly, it teaches lessons that carry over long after the days on the mat are over. Those who stay the course always end up grateful they did and, with time, realize how much this sport played a tremendous role in preparing them for life.

History was made when Ronny and Will both won state titles. We have never had two state champions in the same year.

Finals start at 7:00 PM and can be watched on NFHS.
